Options include: �1️⃣ Remove only the hardware that's in your way. �2️⃣ Stage the procedure with hardware removal first, then return later for the replacement. �3️⃣ Perform a single-stage procedure, removing all hardware and using a stemmed tibial component to bypass any stress risers or screw holes.
💬 In this case, since the hardware had been in place for 25 years and was not symptomatic, I elected for a single-stage approach, removing only the proximal screws, avoiding additional soft tissue dissection.
