Curious what your 2-hour esketamine (Spravato) treatment appointment will be like?⁠⁠

+ Vitals are taken at the beginning of your visit, 40 minutes into treatment and at 120 minutes which is the end of your visit. ⁠
⁠
⁠⁠+ One of our incredible providers sits with you while you self administer 2-3 doses of the esketamine nasal spray during the first 15 minutes of your visit. ⁠ This allows for gentle onset of the medication. If needed, we can pre-medicate you with nausea medication to make sure you have a good experience.⁠
⁠
⁠+ The remainder of the time is for you to relax and let the medication work, which looks different for everyone. Music and a dark space is what most of our patients enjoy! Sometimes there are emotions to process and we believe you'll find this a safe space to do this important work. ⁠

"There has been a long-standing need for additional effective treatments for treatment-resistant depression, a serious and life-threatening condition," said Tiffany Farchione, M.D., acting director of the Division of Psychiatry Products in the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. "Controlled clinical trials that studied the safety and efficacy of this drug, along with careful review through the FDA’s drug approval process including a robust discussion with our external advisory committees, were important to our decision to approve this treatment."
