Sierra Sage Recovery Services provides outpatient, high-quality care for Nevada Medicaid recipients with substance use disorders and co-existing mental health issues. This is when an individual experiences both an addiction to drugs or alcohol and struggling with mental health. By treating both conditions simultaneously, we are better able to reduce the risk of relapse and increase clients’ overal
l wellbeing. Our mental health treatment program is familiar with dealing with depressive disorders as well as anxiety disorders. In our treatment programs, clients can take advantage of the following therapies:
Individual therapy: Working in a private, confidential setting with a counselor or therapist, clients identify, explore, and deal with their mental health issues. This kind of one-on-one therapy makes it possible for clients to develop trust as they honestly deal with their substance abuse issues. Group therapy: While individual therapy is always a good option, many clients find talking with peers who are undergoing similar challenges, an effective way to address their issues. In group therapy, participants relate their struggles and experiences in a non-judgmental, confidential environment. Here they receive support, constructive criticism, and honest praise and appraisal from the medical professionals in the session and their peers. Group therapy is often the best way to develop the necessary support system for after treatment concludes. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT): A form of talk therapy, CBT focuses on how to recognize negative self-image, negative self-talk, and broader negative thinking and change these habits for the better. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT): A type of CBT, DBT concerns itself with expressing emotions and understanding how others do so appropriately. It is a means for clients to learn and master self-control and understand their motivations and feelings.
