🔦 July Caregiver Spotlight: Leslie 🌟
This month, we’re proud to shine our spotlight on Leslie, one of our most adaptable and reliable caregivers.
Leslie has worn multiple hats with us—including a brief time helping in the office when she first started with us. As a mom working hard toward her education, she made the heartfelt decision to let go of her office role to focus more on her daughter, her school, and caregiving.
Leslie continues to go above and beyond, not only for her clients, but also for our team. Even when she’s off the clock, she’s always speaking highly of our agency and spreading the word about the work we do, simply because she believes in it.
Her advice to someone new to caregiving? "Take the time to truly get to know your client on a personal level. Building empathy not only helps you understand their needs better, but it also allows you to find meaning and joy in the work you do. Small things—like learning their preferences or routines—can go a long way in making them feel genuinely cared for. Even though you’re working in their home and may often be alone with them, it’s important to maintain a professional mindset. Always remember that you are in a workplace. Staying alert and focused helps prevent mistakes and ensures you provide the best care possible."
Leslie has so much wisdom to share with us, we had to ask what her personal motto is. She answered, "Do not judge—everyone comes from a different culture. The best way to truly know someone is by being open-minded and taking the time to understand their beliefs."
Outside of caregiving, Leslie shared that her time is mostly devoted to being a hands-on mother and focusing on her studies as she works toward earning her degree. While her schedule is full, she tries to make time for exercise when she can, adding,
“Staying healthy and strong is important to me—not just for myself, but so I can continue to care for others effectively.”
Thank you, Leslie, for the kindness, loyalty, and heart you bring to our clients and to our team. We’re VERY lucky to have you!
