Our Story
Dr. Diaz Torruellas is a proud United States Air Force Veteran Major. She began her professional education at The University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During her time at the University of Puerto Rico, Dr. Diaz Torruellas was a member of the National Honor Society of Puerto Rico and a member of the Honor Society of Biology.
After graduation, Dr. Diaz Torruellas moved to Mexico and enrolled at the University Autónoma of Guadalajara, in Guadalajara, Jalisco. She excelled in the program and graduated four years later with her Doctor of Medicine.
Dr. Diaz Torruellas subsequently returned to Puerto Rico and completed a rotary internship under the guidance of Dr. Isaac Gonzalez Martinez at the Oncology Hospital in San Juan. After her internship, Dr. Diaz Torruellas remained on staff and participated in a research program for an additional year.
In 2011, Dr. Diaz Torruellas entered a residency program in internal medicine at the San Juan City Hospital, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She completed her residency four years later and entered private practice.
