Las Vegas Play Therapy is the practice of Janet Nordine LMFT RPT-S

Janet Nordine, MS, LMFT, RPT-S is one of the few Registered Play Therapists Supervisors (RPT-S) in Private Practice in Las Vegas and in Nevada. She has spent hundreds of hours in Play Therapy Training and with clients to be able to work with children in their language of PLAY. She has developed a unique set of skills that will help children express their inner worlds, emotions, and needs. She sees children as a delight and strive to make a connection so that they feel safe, seen, and heard in session. She works with parents to better understand their children and to help build meaningful attachments. Play Therapy when presented by a Registered Play Therapist, is so much more than games and talking. As a Registered Play Therapist, Janet looks at the child’s sense of wonder and achievement in their play, allowing them to lead and, at times, become the guide. The child shows themselves through their play, they process their emotions, their worries, their hopes, and dreams through their actions in play. As a Registered Play Therapist, she is always amazed by children and how they bring their whole and real selves to the Therapy Playroom. It is a gift to see their worlds open and to see them begin to find confidence in their emotions, their lives, and in their families.

When Facility Dog Lexi is not saying "hello" to children and their families, she likes to look out the office window at Las Vegas Play Therapy. She is an office favorite. Her photo is in our lobby and everyone always says "ohhh it's Lexi" when we come out to greet our next client. Recently, she greeted another therapist's person, put her head on their knee and gave them the Doodle Dazzle. She would not leave - even for a treat. The person sat and cried and stroked her head. Later I found out they had just recently lost their own dog. She just knew they needed extra love. She amazes me at how intuitive and kind she is when at the office. She has made my practice more rich and meaningful.

Meet Lexi. Lexi is a beautiful 18-month-old Golden Doodle who has been lovingly donated to Las Vegas Play Therapy as a facility dog by 4E Kennels Healing Hearts. I am deeply honored and grateful to welcome this soulful, loving, and delightfully funny girl as my newest co-worker. When she’s ready to join us in the office, Lexi’s job will be simple but powerful—to be present and to care deeply about the children and families we serve.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible team at 4E Healing Hearts Kennels for entrusting Lexi’s continued care to me. She will be cherished for her entire life —and I know she will offer so much comfort and connection in return.

I can't wait for you all to meet her! 💛🐶
