Veterans discharged under conditions other than dishonorable who are experiencing a suicidal crisis can receive no-cost emergency mental health care at any VA or non-VA facility. Enrollment in the VA system is not required.

This benefit covers up to 30 days of inpatient care and 90 days of outpatient care, including transportation and follow-up services. It’s part of a national effort to prevent veteran su***de and expand access to care for millions who aren’t currently enrolled in VA services.
