We spend most of our childhood and adolescence adapting and molding to our environment so we can fit in. Standing out and being unique was often discouraged by our peers because being "different" was weird and not "normal". The long-term consequences of this are that we often times enter adulthood not fully knowing ourselves, and therefore, not being happy with who we are, or even deeper than that, not KNOWING who we are. Although this is not exclusive of the LGBTQ+ Community, this story resonates with many in the Community since we typically had to hide our true selves growing up, and when we finally accept ourselves, we often have to start over in many ways. You deserve to discover who you truly are, and I know that doing it all on your own can be scary because I did that myself when I started my own therapy journey. If you are feeling lost, starting to find yourself and don't know where to start, or if any of this resonates with you, please message me and I'd love to learn how I can help you! 💙.....................
