🗣️ SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER

Today, our founder and CEO, Kasia Caldwell, LCSW, proudly testified before the Nevada Senate Judiciary Committee in support of SCR 3, a critical resolution aimed at addressing and preventing human trafficking in our state.

As the founder of Intentional Living Academy, Kasia not only leads our team in providing trauma-informed care to survivors, families, and individuals from all walks of life — she also stands boldly at the forefront of macro-level advocacy, fighting for systemic change in our community.

Her words today were more than testimony. They were a call to action grounded in professional expertise, lived experience, and a steadfast commitment to protecting the vulnerable and uplifting the voices of survivors.

At Intentional Living Academy, we believe healing doesn't stop at the therapy room. It extends into legislation, education, and community action. We are honored to be part of this powerful movement, and we remain unwavering in our advocacy for safety, justice, and change.

Today is a hard day for many of the people in my world that I love and care about. It it a hard day for me as well. My calling is to "hold space" for people holding space for others and honoring my own emotions and feelings is such a delicate balance and attuned skill.

Many know I am on a pathway of learning the ancient ways of shamanism. My friend and mentor wrote this blog this morning. I found it attuned and helpful. I am sharing it here that others may also do the work and hear the message. To go within to grow through this.

Insight from day one of experiential therapy training class...

I have more trauma than I realized from attending transformational seminars with people who are not trauma informed. If you are going to receive trauma treatment go to someone who is a trained professional. I have more work to do...

Also, please be aware of who you are sending your teens and children to. So many of these "tough love" or "leadership" programs do so much harm to young developing minds and create a trauma bonding experience rather than a secure and safe developmental experience.

We all need people in our lives that can hold space for our hearts. People who will love us without judgement and hold us in our tender moments even when we aren't making the best choices. I hope the people I love in my life know that I want that for them.
