An awesome full year guest spot at Rebel Muse Tattoo Studio came to an end last night!!

I got to finish up an epic kintsugi lizard mastectomy coverup (pics to come) then a nice little boomerjacks time with my favs 😉

3 days of packing now, then heading north back to Calgary!!

After 6 full years in the US, my gypsy time is over. I feel like I’ve been wandering the desert this whole time LOL, looking forward to seeing (and tattooing) some familiar faces back in the land of the ice and snow!

Stacie-Rae, BRCA1+, has had a preventative mastectomy after losing her mother early to ovarian cancer. She has been tattooing professionally since 1995, After art School in 1994. At that time where there were next to no professional female tattoo artists in her home country of Canada. Featured in countless magazines, and newspapers, winning multiple awards for her tattooing and also for her fine art, she now shares knowledge with other tattooers doing the same kind of work worldwide.

*The first thing she saw in the medical tattoo community was a total lack of realism, so she wrote the A.R.T. of Ar**la Restorative Tattoo to put ART first! ART imitates life and now almost every tattooist draws ni***es! A needed evolution, inspired in full by A.R.T.

*The coolest by-product of the book, coming from the diagrams to show readers how to analyze and execute realism techniques, is NIPPLEBACKS.com - To illustrate the book, Stacie-Rae took photos of her consenting friends ni***es. Once digital for print, she decided to turn them into temporary tattoo options for survivors. This had never been seen by the world before, and is an incredibly effective emotional healing aid for the person who has lost their ni***es. “30 seconds to wholeness”, realistic ni***es that last a week for the wearer who is either unread or unable to get the real thing. These assist in that decision, empowering the survivor to connect with their body in a way that was previously unavailable.

*The next thing that troubled her was ‘the curse of the fading ni**le tattoo’, an epidemic in medical tattooing as practitioners used cosmetic tattoo pigments that are designed to fade over time. Well, since damaged skin can’t handle repeated tattooing, she co-created the worlds FIRST permanent ar**la and camoflauge tattoo pigment option (with her then-protege Samantha Rae, who is now an amazing mastectomy artist in her own right). Made by World Famous Tattoo Inks, these pigments are reliable, vegan, and gamma-ray sterilized.

*The next thing to be fixed is the unspoken problem of most tattooists not knowing how to execute technical excellence in damaged tissue, so she came up with the first scarred practice skin, and her now business partner Samantha Rae, lovingly hand pours each of these skins (they also represent every ethnicity, another industry FIRST) in her studio to the the highest quality practice skin ever seen, with stretch marks, radiation thinness, keloid scarring and more - everything a tattooist needs to learn to tattoo without harming another survivor in the steep learning curve for this very challenging work. We can teach effective collagen induction therapy, stretch mark issues, and pretty much every other challenge an artist will face!

*Combining these powerful inventions with the worlds first hybrid course for learning how to tattoo well puts A.R.T. at the helm of evolution in this industry. We offer a digital class and a one-on-one mentorship with the in-person training to make sure that A.R.T. artists are consistent in their greatness. We work together to lift each other up to be great healing tattooers for our beautiful clients.

She now focuses her tattoo chair time on clients who need true healing from various traumas and life changes through the ancient and sacred power of tattoo. Stacie-Rae is an Usui method Reiki master, a certified sanctuary offer along with sacred language expert, and can finally help you rewrite the trauma, and anchor those intentions to your new tattoo to help your subconscious remember that the pain is gone and you can move on with excitement!

Stacie-Rae is now doing her scar and medical tattooing in Costa Mesa, CA, alongside another mastectomy tattoo specialist, Jason Lewis at his humble little studio, Blue Collar Tattoo, at 2204 Newport Dr, just a couple miles from beautiful Newport Beach area.

She also works with highly experienced specialty tattoo artists from all over the world, and collectively they form a web of dedicated artists who see the true power of healing that can be achieved with heart-centered intentional tattooing.
