Today, Aveanna acknowledges Kawasaki Disease Awareness Day, an opportunity to spread awareness about the disease, advocate for research, and support those affected and their families.
Kawasaki Disease (KD) is a rare condition that primarily affects infants and young children. It leads to inflammation of blood vessels and fever. Symptoms also include red or pink eyes, cracked lips, swelling, upset stomach, and enlarged lymph nodes in the neck. Although the cause is unknown, early treatment can result in a full recovery for most.
This year's theme, "Lights On, Hearts Strong," highlights the resilience of KD patients and their families. Visit https://pulse.ly/vu7twtnajk to discover more about KD and how you can help raise awareness.
