Peace

✍ May everyone who meets us—standing by the road as we pass, offering flowers and quiet smiles—find a sense of peace growing softly within them.

May those who see us from a distance—through a car window or across a crowded street—feel a moment of kindness and warmth in their hearts.

May those who follow our journey online—reading these words and seeing these photos—feel that peace is closer than they thought, right there beside them.

May those who simply hear about this walk—from a friend, a family member, or a kind stranger—receive this message like a seed carried on a gentle breeze.

To everyone whose life touches ours—whether we meet in person or stay connected through our hearts across the miles—may this walk for peace find a home in you.

May this peace bring you quiet joy. May it help you feel more connected to your own heart and bring out a natural kindness that flows easily to others.

How we treat animals says alot about how we treat our children.

❄️ Cold weather is here, and we’re here to help! ❄️

As temperatures drop, we have free straw available for pets who need help staying warm and cozy this winter. Even pets who are only outdoors during the day can benefit from straw in their dog houses.

🐾 Why straw?

Straw stays dry and insulating—blankets can get wet and freeze, putting pets at risk.

❌Remember: straw should be replaced periodically to stay effective!

📍 Pick-up Info

Straw is available at the shelter during business hours:
Tuesday through Saturday, 11am to 4pm.

Address: 1680 N. Grand Ave, right next door to City Hall.

If you can’t make it during business hours or don’t have transportation, please reach out—we’re happy to help get you what you need.

🍗 Extra winter care
Pets burn more calories in cold weather, so make sure they’re getting a little extra food.
And even with straw, pets should still come inside when it’s cold—though we know some breeds (like huskies!) thrive in chilly temps.

Thank you to Friends of San Miguel County Animals for providing straw for this program and to the individuals who have brought a few bales to pitch in!

Hurray! Another smashing success! We want to thank all of the parents, therapists, and community members who donated to our food drive done in collaboration with NMHU's Student Social Engagement Club! Food drives are so important and to see them be successful is really stupendous! Thanks again to everyone who donated. We look forward to the next one!🌈🍗🌽🌶🍞

We at Rainbow Road are always looking for ways to promote our employees and the great work they do in their communities. Theresa is one of our SLP's and has been working for us since July. She has recently been promoted to Clinical Manager of our Santa Fe Clinic(go Theresa!). She earned her Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology at Northwestern University and has been working as an SLP for seven years. She specializes in Sensory Integration, Executive Functioning and SLP, Speech Sound Disorders, and Neuroaffirming care. Her drive comes from her desire to make every client feel relentlessly welcome and to support their personal goals for communication and feeding. She's been a great fit at Rainbow Road, and we always look forward to seeing what she'll bring to the table. 🌈

Just a reminder for everyone, our food drive in collaboration with the Student Social Engagement Club ends tomorrow! The drive will go to supplying local shelters, pantries and families in need. We'd love your support in helping the SSEC make a difference this holiday season. If you feel inclined to donate, please bring either canned goods, rice, pasta, cereal, shelf-stable milk/baby formula, peanut butter or canned protein, or cooking oils and spices. 🌈

We at Rainbow Road are so excited to welcome Megan Wilson to our team! She's an Occupational Therapist from Idaho with a master's degree from the University of Utah. She loves working with children and has 10+ years of experience helping them reach their fullest potential! We think she'll be a perfect addition to our team in Santa Fe, and we all look forward to working with her and getting to know her better!🌈😁
