Hello, my name is Riley Bidwell. I am a masters level student therapist from Capella University.
I strongly believe that people are able to move through problems easier when they are met with empathy and connection to others. My educational background has helped prepare me to work with individuals, couples, and families to overcome challenges they are facing. I believe that everyone processes life events and challenges differently. Therefore, my method is to collaborate with those I am working with to figure out the best way they are going to move forward. Whether it be issues regarding self-esteem, relationship difficulties, LGBTQIA+ identification, a major life transition, and so on, I am able to meet clients wherever they are and empathetically support them.
I love this quote by Pema Chodron: “Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded, it’s a relationship between equals.” I take this to heart when I am sitting across from anyone on the therapeutic path. I honor each person’s story and collaborate with them to cocreate or “re-author” a new story of growth and healing.
