This week the PTA students received an inservice from Roberta Stergar PT, DPT on Breast Cancer, Lymphedema, Women's Health, and Pregnancy. Bobbie is always so amazing with giving the students up to date best practice, research, and stats on all subject matter she educates us on. The students then had lab time for practicing techniques for stimulating the lymphatic system; learning the proper direction for draining lymph. It is always such a treat to have Bobbie here with us for this window into demographics of practice the students don't really know about otherwise. Thanks so much Bobbie, for bringing your wealth of knowledge to our PTA students! Great job, everyone!!

We want to say a huge CONGRATULATIONS to our graduating Class of 2025 who all passed their licensure exam first go! They scored an overage of 70 to 100 points above the national average, and we couldn't be more proud of them!! WAY TO GO!!!!

Last week the PTA students headed to BODIES to do some strategic goniometry measurements on subjects that could not be touched or moved. We do this exercise to use problem solving and critical thinking to develop skills necessary for patients that may not be able to attain standard positions for taking these measurements. They assessed every joint and the spine in this activity. They had to think outside the box on many measurements to figure out where to start and place their goniometer. It was a great activity to elevate their thought processes and they did a great job! Well done, everyone!

The PTA students visited Fyzical Therapy and Balance Center this week for in-person learning about balance and vestibular issues. They observed patients with true balance disorders, VOR intervention, use of the harness systems, how balance assessment is done, and discovered how PTA autonomy is represented in this setting. They were incredibly impressed with the knowledge of the PTA's they observed and the level of professionalism and responsibility they demonstrated. They witnessed their future in their profession... and they loved it! Thank you James, Matt, and the Fyzical staff for having us! We always appreciate your support. ❤️ Great job everyone!
