A meaningful day of conversation, connection and community.

Palm Mortuaries was honored to attend the Nathan Adelson Hospice Multicultural Conference and Luncheon, where important discussions about culturally compassionate care took center stage.

During Black History Month, we honor the legacy of James “Jimmy” Gay III, the first Black mortician in the State of Nevada and a valued member of the Palm Mortuaries family.

Jimmy was not only a trailblazer in the funeral profession, but also a dedicated activist and community leader whose impact helped shape Las Vegas. As a hotel executive and NAACP board member, he played a vital role in desegregating Las Vegas Strip hotels and advancing equality across our city.

We are deeply honored to be part of Jimmy’s story. He will always be remembered as a member of the Palm Mortuaries family. Jimmy’s final resting place is in our Roses II Mausoleum at Palm Downtown Mortuary & Cemetery, where a memorial message in his honor can be found in the Garden of Dreams.
