Eating made fun, healthy, and most importantly... yummy! 😋The Healthy Living Institute hosted it's "Eating Made Fun" class yesterday with the help of one of UMC's top chefs! This complimentary class combines nutrition lessons from UMC's dieticians, a cooking demonstration, and a tasting, of course! Participants learned about the power of superfoods and how they can combine to make a mouth-watering creation. On the menu: Salmon and Berry Salad with an Acai Berry Dressing. 🍽

The Healthy Living Institute was honored to be part of the Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition's "Let's Get There Together!" Safety Event this past weekend in the Downtown Las Vegas Arts District. The Healthy Living Institute and other community partners were able give attendees complimentary education and resources to keep them safer on the valley's roads! The group also unveiled a new mural with the message that it takes all of us to prevent injury and loss of life on our roads.

Attention parents! This is a great opportunity for children aged 11 to 14! The Healthy Living Institute will be hosting its Safe Sitter Class. This complimentary course teaches students how to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, practice CPR skills, and helpful information like what to do if there’s severe weather.

🎄The Healthy Living Institute at UMC recently hosted a holiday version of its popular Creative Flow class for its Senior Celebrations group. Participants painted a beautiful winter wonderland scene with instruction from a professional artist! Creative Flow combines artistic projects with meditative techniques to promote relaxation and creative expression. The Healthy Living Institute will be hosting a Creative Flow Sr. & Jr. class for children and adults on April 27. For more information, please visit umcsn.com/events.

The Healthy Living Institute is incredibly thankful to be awarded a grant from the Speedway Children's Charities to continue our important work assisting Southern Nevada's community members with complimentary education and resources focused on health, well-being and injury prevention.
