Hi potential surrogate:) We are thrilled to discuss 6 Milestones in a Surrogacy Journey💕
• Pre-Screening
At the start of your journey, you’ll complete an extensive questionnaire. We setup an interview to discuss your application and a thorough consultation to discuss how our program works. During this process, we obtain all pertinent medical records that determines your eligibility. We perform background checks, referral to a psychologists for a psychological evaluation and if you have medical insurance, we verify it’s eligibility for surrogacy.
• Match with Intended Parent(s)
Once your pre-screening is complete, prospective parents will have access to view your profile. When the intended parent(s) choose your profile as a potential match, we provide you with their profile for approval. We setup a meeting with all parties and if everyone is confident in moving forward, we would consider that a match!
• Medical Clearance
In addition to your pre-screening, you will have to undergo diagnostic testing at a fertility center. Some of the basic diagnostic testing that are performed are (but not limited to): sonohysterogram (a saline ultrasound that focus’ on your uterine health) & venereal disease / hormonal bloodwork.
• Legal Clearance
Following your medical clearance, you’ll be represented by an attorney who will review a gestational carrier contract. This contract will outline legal protection for all parties involved. It will discuss you and your intended parent(s) responsibilities in the journey as well as everything you are compensated for by being a surrogate. All parties must agree, sign and notarize.
• Embryo Transfer
It’s transfer time! During this phase, you will be expected to start injectable medication. The injectable medications will prepare your uterine lining for transfer. When your lining is at its optimal state, the embryo transfer occurs.
• Pregnancy / Delivery
Following a positive pregnancy test, you are monitored at the fertility center until about 10-12 weeks then discharged to your regular OB. The pregnancy will be monitored until you deliver.
