My face when someone says “you don’t need a Doula, the nurse will be there the whole time”. If I had a dime for every time, I heard some version of this statement 😂. Nurses are incredibly hard-working and unfortunately just do not have the capacity to sit bedside for the entire labor. With a Doula there for you means that you do have someone by your side. And having someone there to hold your hand makes all the difference.

I am so overjoyed that I got to spend the week with my 86!!! Year old grandpa. We sometimes butted heads but to be able to spend time with him while having mature conversations about the world today and how much it changed in his lifetime was incredible.
