You could have a heart attack and not even know it! 😲 It’s called a silent heart attack, and happens more often than you’d think. About 45% of all heart attacks come with few or no symptoms.

Even if symptoms are mild (or nonexistent), the damage to your heart is just as serious as a typical heart attack. That’s why EKGs can be a game-changer. They may detect a past silent heart attack in over 40% of cases! 🫀

Want to know how an EKG can help? We break it all down in our latest blog. Read it here:

🌭🥗 Knowing what she knows now about heart health, there are a few foods that Dr. Moazez avoids.

For one, foods that are high in salt and fat. Things like fried foods, processed snacks, and full-fat dairy. She also limits red meats like steak, lamb, and bacon.

Instead, she loads up on lean proteins like chicken, fish, and plant-based options to keep her heart health in check. 🥗🐟

🩸Ever wonder what those two numbers mean when you check your blood pressure? Here’s the breakdown:

🔴 Systolic (Top Number): The pressure in your arteries when your heart contracts (pumping blood).
🔵 Diastolic (Bottom Number): The pressure when your heart rests between beats.

Each beat gives us your systolic pressure, and the pause between beats gives us your diastolic pressure. Both are key to understanding your heart health.

Read more about what these numbers mean for your health in our latest blog: https://www.nevadacardiology.com/what-is-systolic-and-diastolic-blood-pressure/

Does fish oil really benefit your heart? Studies say yes! Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish oil, have been shown to protect against heart disease in several studies! 💪 One standout study from Italy in 2017 revealed some impressive benefits, including:

✅ Improved blood flow
✅ Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties
✅ Anti-clot (antithrombotic) effects
✅ Slowed arterial plaque buildup
✅ Reduced arterial wall hardening

While not every study has shown the same results, the evidence is strong that omega-3s play a key role in heart health!
