(This isn’t my current state of fitness)

I took this photo back in March. Four months ago. Since then it’s been a struggle to keep up a healthy & fit lifestyle that’s up to my standards.

The end of the school year was very stressful. I visited family, got sick, then had a newborn sleep schedule. Nothing has been ideal.

So here I am, 3 weeks before school starts & I’m trying to make a healthy lifestyle a habit again. Choosing discipline over motivation. Choosing to track my macros, do my cardio, and get in all of my lifts. Choosing to get stuff done rather than binging Hulu (too much). Choosing to set myself up for success for the start of the school year.

It’s not easy & it will never get easier, but neither is feeling like junk & not like yourself. I’m leaning on old habits that will quickly become my new normal again.

What are you going to do now to set yourself up for success after summer?
Start a to do list & slowly tackle each item.
Plan some healthy meals.
DRINK MORE WATER!
Do your workouts early in the day.
Start your back to school shopping.
Have a deadline for your goals.

Welcome to the family Levi (my nephew) 💙

It was such an incredible experience being there for my sister while she was in labor. Our bodies are truly amazing! She was amazing!

There was so much unknown about labor even after she did her research. Even more unknown bringing a newborn home! You are responsible for this little human who is so fragile.

We’ve all learned a lot and I’m so grateful I’m able to help her out! We all took shifts & helped out around the house. It truly takes a village— it’s okay to ask for help & it’s okay to want to be alone 💗

Mamas I really feel for you. The newborn stage is rough. Your whole world is upside down and time doesn’t mean a thing. You’re recovering from birth while having to take care of your baby. Use your family & friends for support. Just know you’re not alone in how you feel 💗

Get some fresh air & ☀️

Summertime is a perfect time to get outside, away from phones & reality, and breathe in fresh air to take away your worries.

Within minutes of being in nature, your stress is relieved and you instantly feel better! Your body and mind need the great outdoors.

Even taking a dog walk in the morning or enjoying my ☕️ on the patio, I feel better! I put my phone down and just enjoy being outside. It’s makes the start of my day calming.

Grab your dog or a friend & go for a walk along the beach or a hike in the mountains (or in my case, the desert). You will come back rejuvenated & ready to take on life.

To help lower my stress during the day, I also take Stress Defy. Stress defy helps to lower cortisol (stress hormone) and increase mental clarity. I need that while I teach! My link is in my bio to try it for yourself💗

Here’s why you should continue to exercise when you’re pregnant 🤰🏼

(If you’re cleared by your doctor)

🏋🏼‍♀️Builds stamina
🏋🏼‍♀️Strengthens your core & back muscles preventing your low back from hurting
🏋🏼‍♀️Keeps you and your baby healthy & prepare both of you for birth
🏋🏼‍♀️Gives you energy
🏋🏼‍♀️Boosts your mood
🏋🏼‍♀️Better posture, which means less aches & pain
🏋🏼‍♀️Can make giving birth easier & better recovery PP

🙅🏼‍♀️Let’s be real though- giving birth is not easy & just because you exercise, it does not mean it will go smoothly, BUT you will have a better chance of it going better.

🤱🏽You’ll for sure be glad PP when you recover quickly— baby carrying arms is a thing 💪🏼

‼️You will have to make modifications as you progress through pregnancy. The most important rule to remember is if it doesn’t feel good, don’t do it!

I am SO excited to finally share that my sister is having her first baby next month! 💙

Abby & Jose I am very happy for you and I can’t wait to see you as parents! You were born to be a mother🤱🏽

This will be my 7th niece/nephew, but my first time in the delivery room! I am so grateful I get the summer off & will be able to help them during the first 6 weeks of being new parents🥱

(This is why you haven’t seen any pictures of our adventures this school year. She’s been “my pregnant client” 😉)

☀️ it’s FINALLY spring break! 🥳

I’ve started off this break by relaxing because it has been a rough semester! Especially with testing the last 2 weeks. I was EXHAUSTED!

But, I am loving being able to run mid afternoon! It’s not too hot this week and I’m able to nap midday 😉

I always think I’ll be so productive and workout so much, but in reality, it’s just nice to be able to relax and not have to rush out the door.

I’m looking forward to hiking at Zion later in the week with Abby & her BF. I don’t get to the trails enough, but I always feel so much better and at peace when I’m outdoors! I appreciate when Abby plans trips for us 😘 ⛰
