On Wednesdays, we wear pink! Med Surg Department 3T is proudly joining one of our favorite traditions, wearing pink on Wednesdays to honor and support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Together, we stand in solidarity with fighters, survivors, and families affected by breast cancer. 💪

Flu season is here and Valley Hospital team members showed up ready! Our first Flu Clinic of the 2025 season was a success, with friends and colleagues joining together to get their yearly flu shot. Meet some of our Behavioral Health Unit Staff: Carly, a social worker who has been part of our team since 20`5, Flor, one of nurses and a Valley Hospital team member since 2011 and Miracle, a Recreational Therapist and part of the Valley Hospital team since 2021.

This compassionate team provides specialized care and support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, helping patients on their journey to healing and recovery.

This September, we celebrate the contributions of Hispanic and Latino professionals in healthcare. We asked Jennifer how her heritage has helped her shape the way she connects with patients and families. This was her response:

“My heritage allows me to connect with patients and families in a personal way, especially those who may not always feel represented in healthcare. I understand the importance of respect, warmth, and listening, which are values deeply rooted in Hispanic Culture. Being bilingual and sharing a cultural background with patients also helps me build trust and comfort more quickly, especially when families may feel vulnerable.”

September is recognized as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, a significant time dedicated to raising awareness. It is crucial that we take this opportunity to break the silence that often surrounds the symptoms associated with ovarian cancer, as early detection can make a substantial difference in outcomes.

We should actively support those who are currently battling, providing them with the encouragement and resources they need in their fight. Additionally, it is important to honor and remember the brave warriors we have lost to this disease, acknowledging their struggles and the impact they have made on the lives of others.
