Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸☕

Today we celebrated the amazing women in our community with a delightful tea party at Oakmont of the Lakes Senior Living. Our residents enjoyed colorful macarons, delicious egg sandwiches, and of course plenty of tea.

It was such a joy to see everyone dressed for the occasion—white lace gloves, beautiful small feathered hats, and plenty of smiles all around. Moments like these remind us how special it is to come together, share stories, and celebrate the wonderful women who inspire us every day.

🌏✨ Travel Club Takes on China! ✨🌏

Our residents at Oakmont of the Lakes enjoyed a wonderful Chinese New Year education time as we “traveled” to China! 🇨🇳

We learned about China’s rich history and traditions, sampled Chinese lollipops, cookies, and other tasty snacks, and shared meaningful conversations about travel and culture. 🥠🍭

It was a beautiful time of connection, curiosity, and discovering new things about a country with such deep history and vibrant celebrations. We love exploring the world together—no passport required! ❤️✈️

💜💛💚 Mardi Gras Happy Hour! 💜💛💚

Our Mardi Gras Happy Hour at Oakmont of the Lakes was filled with music, laughter, and festive flavors.

A big thank you to our wonderful entertainer, Stephanie, who had everyone singing and dancing along with her incredible voice! 🎤✨ Our culinary team treated us to delicious, freshly made beignets and a refreshing green lemon-lime cocktail that was the perfect festive touch. 🍹🍩

The fun didn’t stop there—our Resident Engagement Coordinator, Adam, surprised everyone by taking the mic for a special performance of “Sweet Caroline”… and it was a hit! 🎶👏 Residents and the team joined in, singing “ba ba ba!” and filling the room with smiles.

It was a joyful afternoon full of connection, celebration, and plenty of dancing—just the way Mardi Gras should be! 💚💜💛

At Oakmont of the Lakes, we’re proud to recognize Alzheimer’s and Dementia Awareness Week, a time to raise understanding, share support, and honor those living with dementia and the caregivers who walk alongside them. 

Did you know?
• Dementia is an umbrella term for conditions that affect memory, thinking, and daily life — and Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause. 
• While there’s currently no cure for most forms of dementia, early diagnosis and proper care can help slow progression and improve quality of life. 
• Dementia care education helps caregivers build compassion, understanding, and better ways to support loved ones every day. 

This week is about education, empathy, and community — reminding us that every person deserves dignity, patience, and connection. 💜
