This past week we honored our Philippine staff and residents as they celebrated their country’s independence. We decorated with traditional colors and hung their flag. Had traditional foods and dress, a short history of their independence was read to all of us. Many of our Philippine staff told us it was very emotional. They have been here for years and have not heard their national anthem sung in so long that many eyes cried. It was an emotional day for all of us.

One of the best teaching tools we have is very busy. This very true replica can be transitioned for hands on training. The manikin has the ability to be trached , have a stroke or whatever we need to teach the staff to be sure of the care each resident needs. Here we are teaching wound prevention, to include linens appropriate for bed ridden residents , turning appropriately and using positioning devises. Nothing beats taking time to learn hands on. Every CNA, and LN attended a session throughout the three day training on all shifts.

The celebrating of Nursing Home week continues with our staff and residents.
Wednesday we celebrated our Licensed Nurses with an elegant sit down meal of steak, Baked Potato and all the sides and a gorgeous salad. They deserve that and more. The longevity of some of the nurses stretch to over 30 years. Most have been there 5 plus years. They are one solid group.
Today we had a Hawaii theme. The colorful Leis were seen all over. Then all staff celebrated with a Hawaii themed meal.
Topped off the day with a “ make your own sundae. All staff and residents enjoyed the day

As our Nursing Home week of celebration continues, on Wednesday we honored our Licensed Nurses. They were served a sit down special meal of
Steak, Baked Potato, and a beautiful salad. They all received a gift bag of nurse related gifts. All shifts were acknowledged and deserved this special recognition.

So far our clebration week has been very busy . We kicked off with a beautiful Mothers Day dinner and all the women received flowers and a tea party.
Monday our staff had a Western BBQ day. Pulled pork sandwiches with all the fixings
Tuesday The staff dressed up in their favorite decade. We have 50’s 80’s and many more portrayed in the way they dressed. So much fun!
