Stress is part of being human… and it’s definitely part of fertility treatment.

What matters most isn’t eliminating every anxious thought, but supporting your nervous system so your body feels safe, rested, and regulated during any part of the fertility journey... including during IVF. Small daily choices truly add up.

“Why is my pain less important because I’m young?”

I hear this far more often than I should... and it breaks my heart every time.
Too many young adults are told that their grief around infertility isn’t “real” yet... that they’re “too young to worry” or that they should “just relax and try later in their life.”

But age does not determine the depth of someone’s pain.
Age does not invalidate a longing to build a family.
Age does not erase the fear, confusion, or disappointment you may be carrying.

Whether you are 27, 37 or 49, the emotional weight of infertility is real, human, and worthy of care.

Here’s what I want you to hold close:
✨ You don’t have to earn the right to feel your feelings.
✨ You don’t need to be older for your concerns to be taken seriously.
✨ You deserve to be heard, supported, and guided with compassion... right now, exactly where you are.

Your story matters.
Your pain matters.
You matter.

If you’ve ever felt dismissed or minimized because of your age, this is your reminder that your experience is valid. And if you feel comfortable, share your story below so someone else who is hurting might feel a little less alone today. 💛

Someone shared this recently, after months of trying and multiple losses, and it stayed with me.

So many people walking the infertility journey begin to define themselves only by what hasn’t happened yet. They start to feel like their worth is tied to a pregnancy test or a timeline that keeps shifting beneath their feet.

But you are so much more than this moment in your story. 💛

You are a whole person with gifts, talents, passions, relationships, laughter, strength, softness, faith, community, ambition... all of it.

Your identity does not disappear because you are still waiting.

💛 Yes, wanting to build a family is real and deeply valid.
💛 Yes, the grief is real.
💛 Yes, the hope is real.

But it doesn’t erase everything else that makes you, YOU.

If you’re in a season where your heart feels tired, I want to gently remind you that you are allowed to honor the parts of your life that are flourishing.

You’re allowed to celebrate your achievements.

You’re allowed to love who you are right now… even while you still long for what’s next.
Both can be true at the same time.

And if you feel comfortable, share one thing about yourself today that has nothing to do with fertility. A hobby, a win, a joy, a piece of your story that deserves its own spotlight. My share is that I write really deep long form poetry!

Trying to conceive has a way of exposing the cracks in how we communicate… especially with the people we love most. I hear this in my clinic all the time:

“Why doesn’t my partner understand how heavy this feels?”
“Why am I the only one crying?”
“Why do I feel like I’m doing this alone even though we’re both ‘trying’?”

If this resonates with you, you’re not dramatic and you’re certainly not imagining it. Infertility asks both people to stretch in ways they may not be prepared for. And sometimes, one partner ends up carrying most of the emotional load simply because they’re the one who does.

What I’ve learned over the years is this: people show support based on the tools they were taught growing up. Some people go quiet. Some try to “fix.” Some avoid the conversation altogether because they’re scared of saying the wrong thing. And some genuinely believe they’re helping by staying calm… even if that calmness feels like distance to you.

None of this means your heart is “too much.” It simply means the two of you may need to build a shared language around support — one that doesn’t rely on guessing or hoping the other person will just “figure it out.”

If you’re the partner reading this… presence goes a very long way. Sit. Listen. Ask what they need instead of assuming. Sometimes, the softest gestures carry the most weight.

And if you feel comfortable, I’d love to hear what real support has looked like for you — or what you wish your partner understood a little better. Someone out there may need exactly that insight today.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

What are YOU grateful for this year… big or small? Someone reading may need the reminder that hope is still alive. 🙌

I woke up this morning thinking about how gratitude shows up in the smallest, most ordinary ways… the familiar voices, the comforting foods, the treasured memories that I hold dear, the laughter that comes from deep in the belly, the memories of home (yes, the Tobago sunrises still win every time).

This year has stretched many of us in ways we didn’t see coming. And yet… here we are. Still standing, still learning, still finding pockets of joy in the middle of everything life continues to teach us.

For me, gratitude looks like:

• Patients who trust me with their stories
• A team that shows up with heart
• Family who loves loudly and without conditions
• Friends who check in at the exact right moment
• And the quiet reminders that purpose is bigger than any one season

Whether today is filled with people or peaceful solitude, I hope you let yourself slow down enough to notice something that warms you from the inside out.
