The nature around us is so beautiful and majestic!!😍☀️🧗🏽‍♂️🙌🏽⛰🌲Remember to get more physically active🏃🏻‍♀️, we all need it especially in these times! The American Academy of Pediatrics reveals that only a small percentage of children are getting the activity needed to keep them healthy😱Kids 3-5 years of age need at least 3 hours of physical activity daily, and older kids and teens at least 60 minutes of moderate to strenuous activity daily🏃🏽‍♂️⛹🏼‍♀️🏊🏼‍♀️🚴🏿‍♀️It not only helps to prevent early onset obesity, heart disease and diabetes, but also improves attention in school, restful sleep and keeps their immunity strong!👦🏻💪🏼👧🏽Taking walks around the community, hiking, trail walking and bike riding are all great socially distanced activities that will leave you and the kids feeling healthy and happy💚👨‍👩‍👦👩‍👩‍👦👨‍👨‍👧‍👧♥️

Greetings to our Oasis families!💕Just a quick update to our current hours➡️

🔹We are open for appointments Mon/Wed/Fri temporarily this month (but our awesome docs 🌼👩🏻‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️🌸are available by phone if you have any urgent questions during off hours!)

🔸Mon, May 25th the office will be closed in observance of Memorial Day, but to accommodate visits after the long weekend we will be open the following Tuesday, May 26th😁

We are doing our very best to adhere to recommendations to decrease the rapid spread, but we need your help as well!! There is a nationwide shortage of protective equipment for us healthcare providers (N95 masks, gowns, etc.), and our patients rely on us in these uncertain times. The following recommendations during this pandemic will GREATLY help:

1️⃣If your child is well, or has minor cold or sick symptoms, it is best to recover at home with rest and lots of fluids and love! You may always call our office and we will recommend based on your child’s age, medical history and symptoms whether home care is appropriate.

2️⃣If you have a scheduled visit that is non-urgent, please call us and we will kindly reschedule to a later time

3️⃣Please limit the number of family members/siblings accompanying you and your child to visits to just 1 parent and your little one if possible.

We are making accommodations during these very significant times to speak to families and advise any treatment by phone if appropriate to limit the number of visits.

As a precaution to avoid unnecessary exposure to illness, Oasis Pediatrics is kindly asking anyone with upcoming scheduled wellness checks to call and reschedule to a later date if your child is well and without any concerns or need for vaccinations. We are also asking any complimentary prenatal visits to postpone their meet and greet with Dr. Rema or Dr. Lillie and opt instead for a phone meeting. We are taking these important precautionary measures to keep any little ones and their family members from any exposure to illness given the recent COVID-19 pandemic concerns. Our community’s and patients’ health is our top priority and we hope our efforts will help slow the spread of the virus. **The recent COVID-19 pandemic affecting our global community has caused much uneasiness, concern for the unknown and panic in some. This significant health situation has rapidly emerged and it is important that we understand how we can protect ourselves and our little ones as well as help slow the spread of the virus.
⭐️Here are KEY points to follow⭐️:

-Minimize attending social gatherings and events
-Postpone travel✈️
-Avoid sick contacts😷
-If you are sick with mild cold symptoms stay home to recover before going out in public again
-Work from home when possible👩🏻‍💻
-Wash hands frequently for at ⭐️LEAST⭐️ 20 seconds🖐🏼
-Drink plenty of water💧and eat healthfully!🍎
-Avoid panic buying 🧻as this can reduce availability of supplies needed by medical professionals

These are preventative measures that we can practice to help reduce the rapid spread of the virus.
⭐️Most importantly don’t panic!⭐️
It is often our initial natural reaction but it is important to remain calm, stay up to date and follow the latest recommendations from the CDC and World Health Organization. Let’s keep ourselves and our community healthy💚
