Adventure called...and Grand Montecito's Resident led Adventurers Committee answered! A few of the gentlemen in our community, joined the Committee for an outing to Sportsman's Warehouse, a local sporting goods store here in Las Vegas. Ready to explore, the group enjoyed a fun-filled day wandering the aisles of fishing, camping, archery, kayaking, and all things outdoors! These trips are a wonderful way for Residents to connect over shared interests, SPARK conversations, and enjoy a sense of independence and adventure together! Please join us in congratulating our incredible Executive Director Dr. Lori, as today marks her 1 year anniversary with Grand Montecito Memory Care. Her leadership and dedication has made such an impact on our community this past year. Additionally, Environmental Services Director Stephen will reach his 1 year anniversary this week, and MedTech Latasha reached her 2 year anniversary earlier this month! We are so grateful for the heart these three bring to Grand Montecito every day! Here's to many more years of making a difference together!

Resident Don K. turned 100 years young and Grand Montecito Memory Care went all out for the Centenarian Celebration! As Resident Don K. was joined by his family and friends, we had the sweetest time celebrating the momentous occasion! Our dining room came alive with festive decor and fabulous live 50's music by the talented Jonny Bird. We enjoyed a delicious brunch thanks to our amazing Dietary Director, Chef Tom and his crew, along with a birthday cake worthy of 100 candles! Brighton Chaplain Dave Macer honored Resident Don K. for his service in the United States Navy and Lifestyle Director Shannon proudly read Don K.'s biography. A huge thank you to Brighton Hospice, Valley Hospice, our entertainer Jonny Bird, the wonderful families of our Residents that blessed this event, and of course our incredible staff. It was a celebration of a century of life, wisdom, and joy. We were so honored to be trusted with the details of such a momentous occasion! Grand Montecito's Resident led Crafty Creators Committee continued with their handmade decor for our cherished Resident's 100th birthday celebration, making ice cream cones from crafting paper and balloons! The Resident led SPARK Decorating Squad also sprang into action, preparing for the big event! A big thank you to the families who showered our community with love, sending us additional, fun 50's decor! Creating handmade decorations with thoughtful details, the Crafty Creators poured love into every piece, making the milestone celebration even more meaningful! We love seeing our Residents use their talents to create something beautiful for one another, especially for such an unforgettable moment! Last month we celebrated our amazing Residents Gaye, Shannon, and Lou (Norma) for their July Birthdays! We kicked off the celebration with live music by David Lewis and all the Residents enjoyed delicious cupcakes from our generous sponsor, Jessica of Hospice Services of NV & Home Health. Our Resident led SPARK Decorating Committee were busy bees, decorating the doors of our birthday Residents, spreading smiles and making everyone feel loved! We're doubling the celebration for our charismatic caregiver, Jr! Join us in congratulating him for his 1 year anniversary as part of the Grand Montecito Memory Care family. He hit the momentous milestone last Tuesday....and today we wish him a Happy Birthday! In just one year, Jr has made a lasting impact with his kind heart and endless dedication to our Residents. Not only does he provide compassionate care, but he SPARKS engagement with his incredible initiative with our Resident led committees, like the ever popular Gamers Guild. In celebration of National Ice Cream Day, Grand Montecito turned up the fun with a festive ice cream social. A huge thank you to our amazing sponsor Ericka from Enhabit Hospice and her wonderful family of volunteers, making it all happen! Residents enjoyed creating their own masterpieces, layering toppings of M&M's, brownies, oreos, syrups, whipped cream, and of course cherries onto their ice cream scoops or their banana splits. It was an afternoon of sweet treats, music, and fun social connections!
