Congratulations George Petty on this amazing announcement
George is a certified PRSS and PRSS-S who currently serves as the Program Director for the Shine A Light Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and substance use disorder. In this role, he helps lead a holistic approach that bridges the gap between crisis intervention and lifelong recovery. In addition, George works as the Community Outreach Assistant Supervisor at Crossroads of Southern Nevada, a medical detox and treatment center serving some of Las Vegas’s most vulnerable populations. He is also an active member of the Recovery Advocacy Project for Nevada, where he contributes to statewide efforts to strengthen recovery support and reduce stigma. As a person with lived experience and in long-term recovery, George’s mission is clear: to approach others with empathy and fairness, uplift his community, and help break down the stigma surrounding homelessness and substance use disorder. George draws continuous inspiration from his family especially his wife, Nancy, and his children, Adam and Olivia. Their support encourages him to keep growing and to stay committed to his community
