🧡 Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

This year’s 16 Days of Activism campaign theme, “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls,” calls on governments, tech companies, donors, and individuals to create safer online spaces. This campaign is part of the UNiTE initiative, hosted by , which works globally to end gender-based violence and support victim-survivors.

At the Care Center, we work year-round to support victim-survivors, raise awareness, and provide resources. ☎️ Connect with us through our Care Line at 702.895.0602 for immediate support.

📚This Book of the Month goes to Project 562: Changing the Way We See Native America by Matika Wilbur ().

📘Project 562 is a beautiful multi-year long photography project telling the stories of ‘562 federally recognized Tribes, urban Native communities, Tribes fighting for federal recognition and Indigenous role models in what is currently-known-as the United States.’

Native voices, culture, and resilience come alive in Wilbur’s project and it’s available to pick up a free copy in our Healing Library today! 💛

A sophomore majoring in Political Science, McKenzie dreams of becoming an attorney to help families navigate the legal system. She’s a bold, unapologetic activist and has been an incredible part of the Care Center since the start of Fall 2025.

💜 “McKenzie has continually impressed Care Center staff members with her confident and prepared advocacy style. She comes in each week ready to take on whatever the day has in store for her and happily collaborates with the team on ways to improve practices and expand resources. Access food drives, pantries, and services providing free distributions across the valley. These organizations are here to provide assistance, so everyone can access aid. 🧡

October was a powerful month as we honored Domestic Violence Awareness Month! 💜

From trainings and tabling to our screen printing workshops and annual Take Back the Night event, we’re so grateful to everyone who showed up, supported us, and took action against violence with the Care Center team.
