Sylvia Garnica-Soto is a Certified Nurse Midwife who recently relocated from Texas to Nevada to be closer to family. She earned both her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Frontier Nursing University, completing her doctorate in 2021. With over 15 years of experience as a Registered Nurse—including several years in international labor and delivery settings—and more than five years as a midwife,
Sylvia brings a wealth of clinical knowledge and compassionate care to her practice.
She provides full-scope midwifery services, supporting individuals and families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and comprehensive reproductive and wellness care. Her
approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, informed choice, and physiologic birth, with a strong emphasis on client-centered decision-making.
Sylvia’s clinical passions include:
• Supporting families in out-of-hospital and community birth settings
• Expanding access to midwifery care for underserved populations
• Promoting culturally responsive care, especially for Spanish-speaking
communities
As a bilingual provider and advocate, Sylvia is deeply committed to ensuring that
Spanish-speaking families receive respectful, informed, and empowering maternity
care. As a military spouse and mother of two, she understands the diverse needs of
modern families and brings a warm, grounded presence to her work. She is also passionate about mentoring future midwives and fostering lifelong learning within the
profession.
Outside of her clinical role, Sylvia enjoys reading, traveling, and finding joy in everyday moments. Her practice is inspired by a deep belief in personal growth, professional excellence, and the transformative power of respectful maternity care.
