“My own heroes are the dreamers, those men and women who tried to make the world a better place than when they found it, whether in small ways or great ones. Some succeeded, some failed, most had mixed results... but it is the effort that's heroic, as I see it. Win or lose, I admire those who fight the good fight.”- George R.R. Martin⁣

Also, thank you to ALL workers in different industries who are also out there risking their lives and continuing to make a difference in the world, including but definitely not limited to grocery store employees, restaurant workers, truck drivers, sanitation workers, janitors, warehouse workers, and even our generous neighbors. It’s inspiring to see all the ways people are showing up for one another, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. May we continue to uplift one another, PRAY for one another, be kind to one another, and love one another.⁣

Thank you to all of the wonderful home health and hospice workers, medical staff, and caregivers who continue to selflessly care for our society's most vulnerable. We appreciate you!

As the COVID-19 pandemic situation evolves, remember that proper hand washing is one of the best ways to avoid getting sick and prevent the spread of germs to others. ⁣

CDC recommends washing your hands often by practicing proper hand washing technique. As advised by CDC, wet your hands and apply soap. Then, lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds and don’t forget to lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. Rinse your hands well under running water and dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry.⁣

Key points from CDC in regards to hand washing:⁣

- Soap and friction help lift dirt, grease, and microbes / germs. ⁣

- Microbes are all tiny living organisms that may or may not cause disease. ⁣

- Microbes are present on all surfaces of the hand, often in particularly high concentration under the nails, so the entire hand should be scrubbed.⁣

- Germs can be transferred more easily to and from wet hands; therefore hands should be dried after washing by using a clean towel or air dry. ⁣

May is - A friendly reminder to get your numbers checked and assessed by your doctor, at least annually during your yearly check up.

FACT: High blood pressure is sometimes called the “silent killer.” Most people with high blood pressure don’t have any symptoms, such as sweating or headaches. Because many people feel fine, they don’t think they need to get their blood pressure checked. Even if you feel normal, your health may be at risk. It’s important to get your annual check ups even if you don’t experience any symptoms to reduce your risks and initiate a treatment plan with your doctor if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure.
