New York🗽😷 has announced a new public awareness campaign called “More Than A Snore” to shed light on the dangers of sleep apnea. As part of a new law passed on Wednesday, free sleep apnea screenings will be available to all New Yorkers starting June 15, 2025. The initiative aims not only to educate residents on the warning signs and symptoms of the disorder but also to save lives through early detection.

Currently, it’s estimated that up to 90% of individuals with sleep apnea in New York remain undiagnosed, putting them at risk for serious health complications.

Things to know BEFORE traveling with your CPAP Machine.

1) Invest in a travel CPAP machine that uses waterless humidifier.
2) Review airline requirements.
3) Keep a photo or a digital copy of your prescription.
4) Sometimes Airlines require FAA compliance letter. Make sure you also have that with you.
5) Pack a universal travel adapter for your CPAP Machine.
6) CPAP machines are exempt as from carry-on because it’s considered a medical device.
