Not all heroes wear capes – some wear collars! This , we’re celebrating the healing power of pups everywhere.

Facility and are valued members of our larger Healthcare family, and they spread joy to our patients and caregivers. These specially trained companions, like Golden Retriever, Zechariah, may help to reduce stress, anxiety and feelings of isolation, improve mood and lower blood pressure. Some of these furry friends even have their own badges and earn anniversary pins for their years of service.

Beyond the specialized work of therapy dogs, pets can provide unconditional love, comfort and companionship while also encouraging physical activity, all of which has a on mental and physical well-being.

Whether they’re bringing their calming presence to a clinical setting or simply enriching our lives with a daily dose of “pawsitivity,” dogs truly do make a difference.

It's summer and that means that many are feeling the discomfort of mosquito bites. For most people, a mosquito bite produces a small bump that forms within minutes and then itches for a day or two, but some bites may require extra attention.

Sunrise Hospital's Dr. Heber Phillips recently spoke to KTNV about illnesses caused by mosquito bites.

The Aedes aegypti mosquito has rapidly expanded its territory across Southern Nevada. What started as a presence in just two zip codes has now spread to 48 zip codes throughout the region.

Iris brings a wealth of experience and a truly impressive background to her new role. Originally from the Philippines, she earned her BSN there before spending 15 years in Orlando. Now, we're so happy she'll finally be calling Las Vegas home!

With nearly 22 years of diverse nursing experience and an incredible 16 years in leadership roles, Iris is a powerhouse when it comes to clinical excellence and team development. 🎉 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Becky Coulter, who has been promoted to Director of the Neonatal ICU at Sunrise Children's Hospital! 🎉

Becky officially stepped into her new role on July 7th, and we couldn't be more excited! With over 25 years of nursing experience and a true passion for neonatal care, Becky has already made an incredible impact here at Sunrise. As our NICU Manager, she's been instrumental in improving patient outcomes, building a fantastic team, and making our NICU a true center of excellence.

Just a few of her amazing achievements include:

Boosting employee engagement scores from 56 to a whopping 80!

Significantly reducing late-onset infection rates.

Cutting RN turnover from 23% to just 12.78%.

Launching initiatives that made the patient and family experience even better!

Becky's exceptional leadership and clinical knowledge will undoubtedly continue to elevate our NICU. She holds an MBA from the University of Michigan, a MSN from University of San Diego and a BSN from the University of Nebraska.

Our amazing X-Ray Lead guided them through, showcasing all the cool diagnostic imaging machines and explaining how they help us care for patients every day. She also shared valuable insights into the educational paths needed for careers in Ultrasound, X-ray, MRI, and CT.
