🏥 Supporting Nevada Hospital Systems in Caring for DOL / OWCP Patients

Nevada hospitals play a critical role in caring for current and former workers who have suffered work-related illnesses, including those covered under the Department of Labor’s Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP) and the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC)**.

At Atomic Legacy Home Health, we partner with hospital systems to help ensure seamless continuity of care for DOL patients—both during discharge planning and long-term treatment.

Why OWCP & DEEOIC Patients Matter:

DEEOIC recognizes the importance of strong relationships with healthcare providers and understands the barriers many former nuclear weapons workers face when accessing care. The program is committed to supporting providers in delivering high-quality, timely services for approved conditions.

Key Benefits for Hospital-Affiliated Providers
✔️ Patients choose their physician – including primary care providers
✔️ Permanent medical benefits for most accepted claims
✔️ No extensive reauthorizations for approved conditions
✔️ OWCP reimbursement typically pays \~56% higher than Medicare
✔️ Fast, reliable payments

* Over 50% of bills processed within 15 days
* 80% processed within 28 days

✔️ Multiple billing options

* Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
* Online web portal
* Paper submission available

✔️Full transparency & support

* Online access to eligibility, claim status, and authorizations
* Training and tutorials available through the OWCP web portal

* Additional support for complex billing through DEEOIC Resource Centers

Easy Provider Enrollment

Becoming an OWCP-enrolled physician provider is straightforward.
Simply submit an enrollment form verifying your license and basic practice information. Once enrolled, providers can also opt into the OWCP provider search, allowing eligible patients to find you directly.

How does Atomic Legacy Home Health Help?

We work alongside Nevada hospital systems to:
✅ Support discharge planning for DOL patients
✅ Coordinate compliant home health services
✅ Reduce administrative burden for hospital staff
✅ Ensure patients receive uninterrupted, covered care at home

📣 If your hospital serves—or would like to better support—DOL / DEEOIC patients, Atomic Legacy Home Health is ready to help.

Let’s strengthen care continuity for those who sacrificed their health in service to our nation.

⭐ RECA (Radiation Exposure Compensation Act) extended deadline and expanded eligibility.

**Did you know? ** The Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) has been *reauthorized and expanded*, and **new claims can now be filed until December 31, 2027**. If you or a loved one lived, worked, or served in certain areas affected by U.S. nuclear testing or uranium industry operations, you may qualify for **financial compensation**.

What Is RECA?
RECA is a federal program that provides **one-time compensation** to individuals who developed certain illnesses after radiation exposure linked to the U.S. nuclear weapons program. It’s designed to be a **non-adversarial, simplified alternative** to litigation—meaning you don’t have to prove causation, only eligibility.

Who May Qualify?
You may be eligible if you fall into one of these categories:

- **Downwinders**
Individuals who lived in certain counties in AZ, NV, UT, NM, and ID during specific nuclear testing periods and later developed certain cancers.

- **Onsite Participants**
Veterans and civilians who were present at U.S. atmospheric nuclear test sites before 1963.

- **Uranium Workers**
Miners, millers, ore transporters, and core drillers who worked in the uranium industry between 1942–1990 in designated states.

- **Manhattan Project Waste Exposure**
Individuals who lived, worked, or attended school in specific ZIP codes in Missouri, Tennessee, Alaska, or Kentucky where Manhattan Project waste contamination occurred.

Compensation Amounts
Depending on the category, compensation may include:
- **$100,000** for Downwinders, Onsite Participants, and Uranium Workers
- **$50,000+** or medical expense reimbursement for Manhattan Project waste exposure cases
- Survivor benefits are available if the eligible individual is deceased

Important Deadline
**All claims must be filed by December 31, 2027. **
If you think you or a family member may qualify, now is the time to review your eligibility.
