Congratulations to Bridget, BSN, CIC, as she was recently selected as the President-Elect for the Southern Nevada Chapter of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC)! Bridget joined our team nearly a year ago as an Infection Prevention Coordinator and is pursuing her master’s degree in public health.

She is engaged and involved in not only her important work at the hospital but also helping the community through education and prevention! Her expertise and commitment help advance the infection prevention practice and we couldn’t be more proud that she is on our team. Congrats, Bridget!

“Everyone needs a Nikki” – what a beautiful statement from a patient who recently completed hyperbaric treatment and provided a personal recognition plaque to Nikki, Hyperbaric Tech, at our Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center. Nikki’s passion for her work and her unwavering dedication and support to her patients have created such lasting and meaningful experiences for our patients.

Nikki joined the team as our Hyperbaric Tech when the Center opened in 2015 and has been providing over a decade of compassionate care to our patients. Thank you, Nikki, for all you do for our patients and team!

Spring Valley would like to welcome general surgeon, Dr. Katie Marrero, to the Valley Health Physician Alliance. Not only does she bring surgical expertise, but Dr. Marrero also brings experience with surgical education, curriculum development and national committee service, which will be a great asset while working within VHS’s General Surgery Medical Education Program.

Originally from the East Coast, she is excited to work with the Las Vegas community, caring for patients in her new home. Her other interests include traveling and hiking.

Need some Monday motivation? Meet Luciana, RN, who began her journey at Spring Valley Hospital in 2023 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with a passion for learning and delivering exceptional patient care. Luciana pursued nursing school, growing her skills and confidence every step of the way. During her final six months of nursing school, she transitioned into a Nurse Apprentice role, gaining hands-on experience that helped prepare her for the learning curve of becoming a nurse.

Now, Luciana is a Registered Nurse in one of our Medical Surgical units! We are so thrilled that she continued her career journey with us. She states, “I am grateful for the support and opportunities I’ve received and remain committed to continuous growth as I build my nursing career.” Congratulations to Luciana and thank you for sharing your journey with us!
