How long have you been doing what you do, and how did you become a Health&Mind Master?
To answer this question, itโs probably best that I share with you a defining moment, and a resulting โcompelling storyโ, that brought me to where I am today โ coaching people like you on exactly what to do to ultimately live at a higher level of life, be the best version of themselves, and live without regret exactly how they dream to. That defining moment in my life happened over the course of many years but really came to a breaking point a few years ago.
I had always been into fitness, even as a child. Being active always made me feel confident, and good about myself. I was very suppressed by my family, and had secrets I kept from them. When I worked out, I was able to forget about my pain. I always felt like I couldnโt be myself except when I was working out, it was only then I could embrace my strength and be who I really was. Working out was a way of offsetting the pain of overeating due the stress of my family dynamics, and to stop rumors of an eating disorder that people started to believe.
In my second year of college my mother got divorced, which left me angry. I was mad because I felt like my mother was pushing out the only stable force in my life by divorcing my step father, who had been the only male figure in my life. I found martial arts as a way to release my anger, but what I ended up learning was discipline. It was very eye opening. I had believed that discipline would be restricting, but it became the path to freedom. I ended up achieving my black belt in tae kwon do within a year, which led me to competitive kickboxing.
I graduated college, and took some time off to travel and see the world. I felt like I needed to spread my wings and experience new things outside of my home town. I developed a new appreciation for life, and became inspired to finally be myself. I was leaving behind the baggage of my childhood that told me I could never be me. I took on graphic design jobs all over the US, and supplemented it with bartending so I could continue to live life on new terms. After all of my adventures, I ended up coming back home to temporarily work for my uncle at his gym. It was there that my passion for fitness became a career that I fell in love with.
I started off working at the front desk at the gym while I continued to look for a graphic design position. Finally I was offered a job after searching for several months, and it was at that point my uncle provided some intervention. He knew I was happy at the gym, and had hesitations to watch me go back into an industry that I felt straddled down in. It made me realize that if I accepted the position I would be stuck behind a computer screen living from deadline to deadline. My uncle constructed a plan so I could get my personal trainers certificate, build a client base, and have a career that truly lit a fire inside of me. I knew that being at the gym ignited my voice, and it allowed me to engage with people in a real way. I felt alive when I was helping others. So I took a leap of faith and started a new path in my life.
I became certified as a personal trainer and in group fitness, while already holding a yoga certification. I built up a large class following, and a solid client base. I was promoted to the manager of the gym due to our growth. I also became certified in nutrition so I could help my clients achieve their fitness goals. I spent the next six years of my life working to get my clients confident, strong, and comfortable in their skin. My clients were struggling with not being able to lose weight, and didnโt understand how much their diet impacted their health. I created personalized fitness plans, new exercise routines, and taught processes of clean eating. I started to notice my clients were feeling happy, breaking down limiting beliefs, and overcoming obstacles they never thought they could do.
The next big step was opening up my own club which combined nutrition and fitness. All training was done in a group setting, because I loved the energy that a large group of people brought to the gym. I focused on building a strong community of like minded people, and expanded my gym within the first year. I continued to grow my club for two years until I got pregnant. It was a difficult pregnancy, and I was unable to work out as hard and as frequent as I had in the past. I ended up gaining weight during my pregnancy, and my confidence was disappearing. After I had my son, I had become obsessed with getting off the baby weight as fast as possible. My old issues from childhood were coming back up that I had been trying to suppress for my entire life, I was drowning in negative thoughts.
Feeling unconfident, I ultimately decided to let go of my business to a larger partner gym and become a stay at home Mom. Within a couple months of being home, trying to raise my son and feeling stuck in my four bland walls, I became even more depressed. Not only did I realize that I lost my community that kept me alive, I also felt like a failure as a Mom. As more months went by my anxiety, eating addiction, and loss of self identity had hit my reality really hard. I felt that I had lost all the leaps and bounds I had made in life.
One sunny day, when the warm weather was starting to break, I had a moment of desperation. I decided to step out of my comfort zone, and post something personal for the first time on social media. The response was overwhelmingly supportive. And in that moment, I felt the community of social media and was inspired. The thought of helping people outside of my town excited me and there birthed my online business.
Getting myself back to square one with my confidence, I needed a lot of personal development. What I got was a formula to overcome my past wounds, take off my mask, and be completely me unapologetically. I realized this was the missing piece of my teachings, and it intrigued me. So much that just like with everything fitness and nutrition, I dug deeper to learn and educate myself more.
It was then that I made a commitment to dedicate the rest of my professional life to helping others who feel stuck in life, are unhappy with themselves for not achieving their health and fitness goals, and who truly believe there is more out there for them. I will teach you how to quickly hurdle those obstacles and live YOUR ULTIMATE life and feel more alive and sexier than ever!
