The Empowered to Connect Conference is a two-day conference not only for adoptive and foster parents and professionals, but also parents and educators who deal with any children who have been neglected, in difficult or traumatic situations and it designed to help them connect with these children in order to help them heal. This training has an emphasis on what trauma does to a child and how to deal with children who have come from these circumstances.

Led by the TCU Institute of Child Development, this conference is ideal for adoptive and foster parents, agency professionals and social workers. You can receive CEU credits for this conference, see the attached flyer for prices and credit information. This would also be ideal for counselors, therapists and others all involved in adoption and foster care ministries or services. It is also designed for all who work with children from hard places (aka traumatic, abusive and other circumstances) not only adoption and fostering.

The next session of Divorce Care will be starting on January 8th at 6:30 meeting in Checkpoint 8. It will run for 13 weeks, through 4/2. The cost is $20 for the book and a $ 5 registration fee. There is also a children's grief program for kids 5-12 that meets at Checkpoint 6. Unfortunately there is no child care for those children under 5 at this time. You can register at canyonridge.org, or the first night of class.
