Here’s the truth…👇
🔥 Myth: There’s no difference between infrared and traditional saunas.
Truth: There’s actually a really big difference. Traditional saunas heat the air around you, while infrared saunas heat your body directly. This means infrared can feel gentler while still raising your core temperature, often making it easier to tolerate longer sessions so that you can experience a deeper detox, muscle recovery, and more.
🔥 Myth: You shouldn’t sauna everyday.
Truth: Saunaing everyday is encouraged! As long as you are hydrating properly and your doctor does not advise against it due to any specific conditions, daily sauna sessions maximizes benefits such as improved circulation, stress relief, and muscle recovery.
🔥 Myth: The longer you stay in the sauna the more benefits you’ll experience.
Truth: While staying in more than 15 minutes is beneficial, there comes a point where you’re just overdoing it. An hour long session in an infrared sauna is more than sufficient and provides benefits such as an increase in white blood cell production, heat shock proteins activate, and cortisol levels drop. Pushing past your body’s comfort zone can lead to dehydration, dizziness, or overheating without adding extra health perks.
🔥 Myth: The hotter the sauna the better the results.
Truth: Benefits come from raising your core temperature, not from enduring extreme heat. A comfortable, sustainable temperature allows you to relax and stay in long enough to get the most out of your session.
🔥 Myth: Saunaing burns tons of calories.
Truth: While your heart rate increases (similar to light exercise), the calorie burn is limited. This is why we encourage our guests to add cold plunging to their sauna sessions. Alternating between the heat and cold activates brown fat, a metabolically active fat that converts stored white fat into heat to generate energy.
