🎉 Today marks 19 years since I began my journey as a vocational rehabilitation counselor — and what a journey it’s been!

Grateful for the clients/evaluees, colleagues, mentors and legal professionals I’ve worked alongside in pursuit of meaningful outcomes, ethical practice and lifelong learning. Every case brings new challenges, and after nearly two decades, I’m still learning and growing.

The American Board of Vocational Experts (ABVE) has just released its Guidelines for Ethical AI Use in Forensic Vocational Evaluations—a groundbreaking step forward for our field.

We are at a pivotal moment in the evolution of AI and its growing impact on forensic rehabilitation and vocational assessment. With the approval of these guidelines, ABVE has taken a bold step toward ensuring ethical integrity, transparency and responsible innovation.

As one of the first professional bodies to address this head-on, ABVE is proud to lead the way. These guidelines:

✅ Caution against misuse or overreliance on AI;
