At Federal Injury Centers, we specialize in helping injured federal workers get the care and benefits they deserve. If you've been hurt at work, it’s important to follow the proper steps immediately to protect your rights under the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA).

✅ HOW TO FILE A WORK INJURY CLAIM:
Report the Injury Immediately

Notify your supervisor as soon as the injury occurs — even if it seems minor.

Get the date, time, and details documented accurately.

Get Medical Attention

You have the right to choose your doctor—not one picked by your agency.

Visit a DOL-OWCP-certified provider (like us!) who understands federal work injuries.

Complete the Correct Form

Form CA-1 – For Traumatic Injury (an incident on a specific date, e.g., a fall).

Form CA-2 – For Occupational Disease (conditions developed over time, e.g., carpal tunnel).

These forms can be found and filed through ECOMP at www.ecomp.dol.gov

Document Everything

Keep copies of all forms, injury reports, and medical records.

Take pictures if applicable and get witness statements if others saw what happened.

Q: Do I have to see the “company doctor”?
A: No! You have the legal right to choose your own physician under OWCP.

Q: What if my supervisor refuses to give me the CA-1 or CA-2 form?
A: You can go directly to www.ecomp.dol.gov and file it yourself. Be sure to document your attempt to notify your supervisor.

Q: How do I know if my doctor is OWCP-approved?
