The Women In-Depth podcast, hosted by Dr. Lourdes Viado, explores the inner lives of women: their struggles, fears, hopes, and dreams. It also explores what is uncomfortable, uncertain and unknown in a woman's experience. Through interviews and stories with therapists, coaches, writers, artists, and everyday people we go beneath the surface and take a deeper look at relationships, motherhood, self-acceptance, authenticity, aging, healing, suffering, loss, and other areas connected to the emotional and psychological well-being of women.

Just as rain doesn’t create drought,
feasts don’t create hunger,
and generosity doesn’t create poverty,
meeting a child’s needs for attachment,
attention, and affection in childhood
doesn’t create needy adults.
Just the opposite, in fact.
A child whose emotional needs are nourished
tends to grow into an emotionally healthy adult
in the same way a child whose
physical needs are nourished
tends to grow into a physically healthy adult.
It is unmet needs that create need,
not met needs.

Extremely excited to welcome Bethany Webster Healing the Mother Wound with Bethany Webster back to the podcast since her last visit in Nov 2016 when we discussed the Mother Wound: the pain rooted in our relationship with our mothers that is passed down from generation to generation in patriarchal cultures and has a profound effect on our lives.

When left unresolved, we pass on the Mother Wounds our mothers and grandmothers before us failed to heal, which consist of toxic and oppressive beliefs, ideals, perceptions and choices about ourselves, others, and all of life itself.

Bethany’s work addresses a crucial gap in women’s psychology and empowerment by comprehensively defining the Mother Wound and how it manifests in women’s lives, which is clearly more relevant than ever at this time in history.

We’re excited to welcome back Bethany to the podcast since her last visit in November 2016 where we discussed the “Mother Wound”. Her 2014 article “Why it’s Crucial for Women to Heal the Mother Wound” went viral and brought world-wide attention to her body of work in feminism and women.....
