Happy 1st Birthday!!!! This doula baby of mine turned 1 this month! This was a client I supported virtually. They are not local to Las Vegas. She made her way earth side all the want in Georgia. I was there every step of the way. Did you know that I can support even if we are not in the same city! How did you spend your 4th of July? Part of my holiday was spent participating in the patriotic parade with my daughter’s swim team. I unexpectedly ran into one of my doula babies and her family. She just turned 6 and I can’t believe how fast time has gone! Aren’t her eyes beautiful?

Today is World Doula Day which marks the beginning of World Doula Week. This is a a week long celebration recognizing the positive impact that doulas have on the health and well being of birthing families. I’m so honored to have been chosen to be a part of many birth stories! I love what I doula! I also love every one of my doula families!! Congratulations to the French family and the arrival of their beautiful baby girl Amaiya-Rose! I had the honor of supporting this couple as they welcomed their very first baby. Even though this picture only shows me in the background, their support team was much larger. They had a room full of love! They even had a grandmother in the room she was there to welcome her very first great-grandchild. When baby entered the world there was not a dry eye in the room. The bursting and outpouring of love was beautifully suffocating! I caught the moment she entered the world on camera and from behind the camera I was also full of joy and tears. It was so beautiful to witness and I know this beautiful baby girl’s journey through life moving forward, LOVE will always take center stage.

Late Post: Yesterday was world prematurity day. Honoring all of the premie babies and their families. Premature babies are warriors who make an early entrance. Fun fact: Not only am I a premie mom, I also was a premie myself. My sister was a micro premie only weighing 1lb at birth nearly 40 years ago. Technology was not advanced as it is now, she was truly a miracle baby. Was your baby a premie? How much did they weigh? How early did they arrive?

VBAC….. vaginal birth after cesarean. Did you know that it is possible? With the right tools and support team you can achieve it. I had a successful VBAC in 2012. At that time in Las Vegas not many hospitals would allow it and not many OBGYN’s would even attempt it. Fast forward to now, there are a few more doctors and hospitals that allow it. Midwives have been supporting VBACs for home births for many years. I had the honor of supporting my client and friend through a VBAC yesterday. She was so strong and I am so proud of what she accomplished yesterday. Baby entered the world safely and she had the birth of her dreams. Congratulations to the Bates Family.

One week ago today this little angel made her entrance into the world. If you have been following my journey for a while, you might remember the first baby that I caught at a birth back in March of 2019. Well, this is his little sister. It’s such an honor for me to support repeat clients. But they are no longer considered clients…… they are family. Welcome to the world sweet little Reine. Your doula loves you!

These affirmations hanging on a wall where the anchor of this birth space. Yesterday I had the honor to support this couple as they welcomed their first born. Birth plans are wonderful but sometimes birth doesn’t go as planned. That’s ok!!! Babies and the universe are in control of the outcome. Although this baby did not make his entrance in this birth space, he still entered the world healthy and safe. Mom got her vaginal delivery and delivered a healthy 10 pound boy!!! Welcome to the world Hayes and congratulations to the Sandine family!

Congratulations to the Whalum Family! I had the honor and privilege of helping them welcome their first baby. Mommy was so very strong! She managed her labor like a champ! In fact, during labor I had learned that mommy is actually a boxer. That definitely makes all the sense why she was so mentally strong during her labor. Baby boy is beautiful and I am excited to watch him grow and thrive. Welcome to the world little one, your doula loves you!
