Ethiopia Hospice Care extends our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Sir Alec Reed CBE. His generosity, compassion, and lifelong dedication to Ethiopia changed countless lives.
As the founder of Ethiopiaid, Sir Alec’s commitment greatly strengthened many compassionate initiatives in Ethiopia including supporting Hospice Ethiopia in Addis Ababa. His impact will continue through the many organizations he empowered. May his soul rest in peace.

🕯️ Honoring Lives, Supporting Families — Hospice Ethiopia Memorial Day

Hospice Ethiopia held a Memorial Day to honor the patients who passed away after their courageous journey with cancer& other life limiting illnesses and to recognize the families who stood beside them, families who faced unimaginable challenges while caring for their loved ones.

We are so grateful for everyone who joined us for our very first fundraising dinner in Scottdale, Georgia! It was a beautiful evening filled with community, purpose, and incredible Ethiopian cuisine at Piassa Restaurant & Mart.

Guests learned more about Ethiopia Hospice Care’s mission to raise awareness, build partnerships, and gather resources to ensure that every person in Ethiopia has access to compassionate hospice and palliative care. Our goal is simple: to inspire kindness and generosity so that those nearing the end of life receive the dignity and support they deserve.

We want to thank everyone that was able to attend EHC's first home event in Boston, MA where Board Members, Mahlet Girma and Robele Bejiga shared the mission of EHC "to raise awareness and gather resources to ensure that everyone in Ethiopia has access to compassionate hospice and palliative care. We aim to inspire kindness and generosity, helping those nearing the end of their lives receive the care and dignity they deserve".

We were very blessed that Ephrem Abathun, Executive Director at Hospice Ethiopia from Addis Ababa visited the United States during the month of November to help Ethiopia Hospice Care (EHC) to encourage our team and help support this important mission! 🌍✨ Celebrating Partnership, Progress & Purpose ✨🌍
Over the past few weeks, Ethiopia Hospice Care had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ephrem Abathun, Executive Director of Hospice Ethiopia, to the United States. Together, we visited communities across Massachusetts, Georgia, Washington, Nevada, and California—sharing the vision of expanding compassionate palliative and hospice care in Ethiopia.

Our final stop brought us to Snowline Health, a truly inspiring partner that has supported Hospice Ethiopia for many years. Through their generosity, Snowline has helped fund nurses at Hospice Ethiopia in Addis Ababa—impacting lives, families, and communities in meaningful ways.

We are deeply grateful for Snowline Health’s warm hospitality as they welcomed:

This week (3-7 November) is Trustees Week, a celebration of the hard work trustees do. So here's to trustees up and down the land, ESPECIALLY (of course) our wondrous HE trustees, who work tirelessly to raise funds for the great work the team does in Addis. The pic shows our recent trustees' trip to Ethiopia: Sue, Jamie and Jill are in the centre, with Tim second left. They're with some of the hardworking HE staff, in the middle of Addis, having spent the day on the road meeting patients.
