Douglas Thomas Vogelsang, 96, formerly of Latonia, KY, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at his son's residence in Versailles, KY. He was a devoted member of Holy Cross Parish in Latonia, KY. Doug was a middle school teacher at Holy Cross School for several years and had a special love for teaching. He was active in many ministries with Holy Cross Parish and served as their self-appointed handyman. Doug entered the Trappist Monastery of Gethsemani in 1949 and went on to become a self-employed business owner. Doug was a part of many activities in his children's lives and gave to many charities. He was a knothole baseball coach and enjoyed hiking with his family. Doug was preceded in death by his parents: Stanley and Mildred Vogelsang and siblings: Mary Jean (Mike) Kennedy, Therese Urlage, Jack (Libby) Vogelsang and George (Mary Lou) Vogelsang. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years: Mary Diane Timmerding Vogelsang; sons: Steve (Cindy) Vogelsang and Andrew (Connie Bertram) Vogelsang; grandchildren: Kathryn (George Hall) Vogelsang, Kevin Vogelsang, Daniel (Katherine) Vogelsang, Therese Vogelsang, Michael Vogelsang, Emma Vogelsang, Bennett Vogelsang, Wil Vogelsang, John Vogelsang, Adair Bertram Sand, Mitchell Bertram Sand; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Gary “Red” Roberts, age 74, of Independence, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A master carpenter by trade, Red dedicated his life to building and creating. He specialized in home remodels and was known for his skill as a finish carpenter—there was little he could not build or repair. Beyond his craft, Red shared his knowledge with others, spending over a decade teaching trade vocations to special needs adults at Northern Kentucky University, a role he found deeply fulfilling. Red was a proud and longtime member of the Covington Moose Lodge Local #1469, where he formed many lasting friendships. Red was also the proud owner and operator for over 41 years of Wee Bee Tots child care and was involved in fostering children. Known for his quick wit, hilarious voice impersonations, and spectacular singing voice, he brought laughter and joy wherever he went. More than anything, Red cherished his family. He was a fantastic storyteller who never met a stranger and had insights that could last forever. Red’s greatest joy was the time he spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. He was extremely proud of his family and all their accomplishments. A day did not go by that he was not always praising them, even for the most miniscule of tasks. His family was and always will be his world. Gary’s legacy of craftsmanship, humor, music, and love for family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Preceding Gary in death were his parents, Morris and Mary Joy Roberts; in-laws, Buster and Helen Taylor; and three of his brothers, Ronnie, Davey and Darryl. Those left surviving to carry on Gary’s legacy include his faithful and loving wife whom he married on June 26, 1971, Caryl Roberts (nee Taylor); daughters, Amber (Tim Tomlinson) Line and Mandi (Brian) Huff; loving papaw to four grandchildren, Coleman Huff, Riley Huff, Conner Line and Presley Huff; siblings, Debbie, Peggy, Kelly, Danny, Billy, Jerry and Kevin; as well as multiple nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A visitation celebrating Gary’s life will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Latonia, Kentucky 41015. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Gary will then be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Covington, Kentucky 41015. Linda Carol McQueen, age 75, of Ft. Mitchell, KY passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY surrounded by the love of her family and the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Born on September 9, 1949, Linda grew up with a strong faith that carried her through every stage of life. She was a devoted follower of Jesus, a woman who found joy in simple blessings, and someone whose kindness touched everyone she met. Throughout her life, Linda worked as a sales associate for several local businesses, where she became known for her warmth, reliability, and friendly smile. Later, she found her greatest calling as a caregiver for children at several daycares. Her gentle nature and unwavering patience made her beloved to countless children and families, leaving behind a legacy of love and care that will be remembered for years to come. Outside of work, above all else, she loved spending time with family, sharing her faith, and offering encouragement to those around her. Preceding Linda in death were her parents and 3 siblings. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 50+ years, Don McQueen; children, Kelly (Wendell) Jefferson, Jenny Courtney, Dustin Courtney, Josh McQueen, and Theresa McQueen; 3 siblings; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Linda Mae Schwartz, 79, of Taylor Mill, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family at Villaspring of Erlanger Nursing Home. Born on May 5, 1946, Linda lived a life defined by faith, kindness, and dedication. A devoted member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Latonia, Kentucky, she lived out her beliefs through service, generosity, and compassion for others. Linda began her professional life as a reservationist for American Airlines, where her warmth and professionalism made her a valued part of the team. She later transitioned to a career with the Hallmark Greeting Card Company, where she spent many years as a sales associate before retiring. Her work reflected her thoughtful and caring nature-qualities that shone through in all aspects of her life. Passionate about animals and their well-being, Linda supported numerous organizations dedicated to animal welfare. Her compassion for creatures great and small was a hallmark of her life, as was her love of creativity. In her free time, she often enjoyed quilting and sewing, often making handmade treasures. Linda will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, and the joy she brought to those who knew her. Preceding Linda in death were her loving husband, William "Bill" Schwartz and her brother, Roger Liggett. Those left surviving to carry on Linda's legacy include her sister, Nancy (Todd) Schaumloffel and all her loving nieces and nephews who are now emptier upon her passing. A Gathering of Friends for Linda will take place on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3612 Church Street, Latonia, Kentucky 41015. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lisa Louise Donnelly, 64, of Villa Hills, KY, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, August 15, 2025. Lisa was an extremely loving wife, mother and grandmother. She lived her life to the fullest. She was a 1979 Graduate of Covington Holmes High School and a member of Immanuel Church in Lakeside Park, KY. Lisa climbed the ranks and retired from Procter & Gamble after 35 years of service. She worked her way up from a part-time Administrative Assistant to Senior Human Resources Manager. During 10 years of retirement, Lisa took on a role as an Event Strategist with Maritz Consulting. This position allowed her to travel extensively and have countless great experiences with her husband, Mark - the love of her life. For the past 5 years, Lisa had the privilege of being a grandmother, which she described as her greatest honor. She loved her grandchildren more than anything and would go to any length to get to spend time with them. They loved her dearly. Lisa fought cancer with a smile and a level of poise that was nothing short of inspirational. She passed with grace, fearlessness, dignity and a sense of humor that shined until the end. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents: John and Barb Cook. Daniel Raymond Fischer, 74, of Edgewood, KY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 8, 2025. He was often referred to as "Dan" or "Fish" by his family and friends. Dan was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and a member of Holy Cross Church in Covington (Latonia), KY. Dan worked as a clerk with L&N Railroad and retired from CSX Railroad. He was an avid golfer. With his good friend, the late Paul Fossett, Dan organized and ran the Pete Stuntebeck Classic, a high-stakes scramble tournament that brought the best golfers in the tri-state to Twin Oaks to raise scholarship funds for golfers at local universities. Dan enjoyed reading, (especially biographies). He had a passion for collecting coins, pottery and antiques of all kinds. Dan was preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Virginia Fischer. Alvin "Keith" Harris, 79, of Covington, KY, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. Keith was a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and fully supported his family in their Catholic faith. He spent most of his working years in the HVAC industry. In his later years, Keith worked as a security guard at Turfway Park. He was an all-around outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, camping and boating in his younger years. Keith was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, horse racing and playing cards. He loved going to Lake Cumberland with his family and made many friends in his time spent there. Keith was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Lula Harris and brother: Clarence "Buddy" (Carolyn) Harris. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 1/2 years: Donna Sims Harris; children: Shellie Roberto, Mike (Jody Harmeyer) Harris, Mary Harris and Rebecca (Matt) Chupka; siblings: Kenny (Donna) Harris, Betty (Leon) Breese, Shirley (late: Dwight) Bogenrief and Denny (Darlene) Harris; 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
