Charles W. Mounce, Jr., lovingly known by many as "Hot Rod Charlie," passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 53. Born on July 19, 1972, in Covington, Kentucky, Charlie lived a life defined by creativity, grit, and an unwavering devotion to his craft. A gifted artist with a spirit all his own, Charlie was the owner, operator, and driving force behind Hot Rod Charlie's Tattoo Shops. His steady hand, boundless imagination, and ability to capture stories in ink earned him a respected place not only in the tattooing community but also in the lives of countless clients who trusted him with their most meaningful expressions. For Charlie, tattooing was far more than an occupation-it was a calling, a connection, and a way to leave beauty in the world. Beyond his work, Charlie will be remembered for his big heart, sharp humor, and the unmistakable presence he brought into every room. Whether he was sketching a new design, offering a word of encouragement, or sharing a laugh, he did so with authenticity and warmth. His legacy is etched not only on the skin of those he tattooed but also in the memories of those who loved him. Preceding Charlie in death was his father, Charles Mounce, Sr. and his sister, Sarah Mounce. Those left surviving to carry on Charlie's memory include his partner, Shanda Roaden; mother and her husband, Wilma and Alford Pop; sons, Charles Alan Mounce and Ford Warren Charles Mounce; brother, Josh Mounce; grandchildren, Charlie and Jasper; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, clients and friends. Herman "Louie" Estes, Jr., 75, of Latonia, KY, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025. He proudly served the community for 60 years as a roofer/contractor. Louie was also proud to be a Masonic Lodge Member. He enjoyed scuba diving and was a certified rescue diver. Louie enjoyed working on his family's farm in Casey County, KY. He was a family man, an amazing father, and enjoyed providing for his family. Pamela W. Winston, born May 25, 1949, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. A longtime resident of Covington, Kentucky, Pam lived a life defined by compassion, conviction, and an unwavering commitment to the causes she believed in. Throughout her life, Pam dedicated herself to social and environmental activism and advocacy for people facing special challenges. She worked tirelessly to make her community—and the world—more just, equitable, and sustainable. Her professional career in nonprofit development and volunteer management reflected her deep belief in the power of people working together for the common good. Those who knew her admired her integrity, warmth, vivacity, and a steadfast optimism that inspired everyone around her. Pam found joy in simple, beautiful things: tending to her houseplants and garden, being in the woods, and spending meaningful time with friends and family. Her curiosity, humor, and generous spirit left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her sons, Shane (Gail Francis) and Brian (Susanne) Dickey; sisters, Lisa (Rob) Hughes and Sr. Colleen “Bobbi” Winston; grandchildren Dakota Blackwell and Miles Dickey; nieces, Jamie (James) Hils, Kristin (Blake)Tewes, and Allison Hughes; and nephews Jason (Heather) and Eric (Lisa) Suedkamp. Brenda Gail Morgan, of Crescent Springs, Kentucky passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, Kentucky on November 18, 2025 at the age of 69. She was born in Covington, Kentucky on August 19, 1956, the daughter of the late Edward and Doris Snapp. Brenda enjoyed music, especially Elvis and Motown. She also enjoyed cooking, dancing and watching the Cincinnati Bengals. James Rucker, of Covington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, Kentucky at the age of 77. He was born on October 26, 1948, in Covington, Kentucky, the son of the late James and Viola Rucker, Sr. James was a man whose quiet strength and steadfast dedication shaped a life rich in purpose and compassion. He built a long and steady career at Johnson Controls, where he worked in the shipping department as a forklift operator. Over the course of 30 years, he became known not only for his hard work but for his reliability, humility, and the genuine kindness he extended to those around him. He retired with the respect and friendship of many. James’ pride of his work extended to his home life as well. He was meticulous in the care and detailing of his vehicles. However, James’s greatest joy was found in the simple but profound moments spent with his family. He cherished every gathering, every conversation, and every chance to be present with the people he loved most. To his family, he was a source of unwavering support, quiet wisdom, and deep affection. Preceding James in death were his parents, James and Viola Rucker, Sr. Those left surviving to carry on James’ memory include his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Deborrah “Debbie” Rucker; children, Jermaine (Lynette) Haynes, Amber (Adam Bennett) Rucker, Sharla Rucker and Brian (Tamieka) Rucker; sister, Juanita Summerlin; grandchildren, Elijah, Brielle (Ibn), Hypatia, Lillian, Aubrie and Logan James “LJ”; great-granddaughter, Scarlet; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who are now emptier upon his passing. Michael Scott "Mike" Braun, 61, of Morning View, KY, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was a 1982 graduate of St. Henry High School and a 2017 graduate of Thomas More College. Mike was a hard worker and used his skills and experience to get a job in sales. He continued to build his credentials to become one of the top executives at Klosterman Baking Company. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed taking care of his 30 acres of land in Morning View, KY. Mike was preceded in death by his mother: Mary L. Finn Braun. Douglas "Doug" Edward Singleton, 71, of Taylor Mill, KY, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of St. Patrick Church in Taylor Mill, KY. Doug graduated from Ludlow High School and went on to earn his undergraduate degree in education from the University of Kentucky and his master's degree from Northern Kentucky University. Doug spent most of his life as a middle school educator. He was an active volunteer with numerous organizations within his community. Doug was an avid fan and supporter of NKU and U.K. basketball. He was a family man and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Peggy worked at the Cincinnati Post, Kentucky Post and with St. Elizabeth Hospital as a registration clerk until her retirement. Douglas Lee Benham, 86, of Cu***ng, Georgia, won his final earthly battle on November 03, 2025. Having beaten cancer 15 years earlier, Doug lived each day with a deep understanding of the power of purpose, competence, and community. He believed that lifes challenges could forge strength and wisdom that being part of something greater than oneself, maintaining useful skills, and cultivating genuine relationships worked together to create the resilience to stand tall through every trial. Doug was a devout Christian, a dutiful son, a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and always a role model, mentor, and confidant to his two brothers and three sisters. To his nieces and nephews, he was nothing short of a hero. A true friend to every neighbor, Doug was always ready to lend his expert handyman skills to any project that appeared on a friends honey-do list. Few could match his warmth, generosity, or competitive spirit especially in the neighborhoods legendary water volleyball tournaments. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Walther junior and Lucile; his brother, Jack; his sisters, Laverne and Gail; and his beloved grandniece, Grace Caroline White. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carol McLain Benham; his daughter, Sherri; and his grandchildren, Aura Lee, Megan Lynn, and Joseph Douglas. He also leaves behind his brother, Lamon; his sister, Lois; as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends who will cherish his memory.
