Nursing students from WCCC donated supplies to our LAHAS ongoing 'Care to Share' project. These items are given to the Independence Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit at Latrobe Hospital. A big 'Thank You' to our future nurses for your generousity.

🍪 No baking? No problem! The Latrobe Area Hospital Aid Society’s Bakeless Bake Sale runs through November. All proceeds support the Latrobe Inpatient Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit at Independence Health System.

LAHAS and the Latrobe Area Hospital Charitable Foundation hosted a reception on October 7, 2025 for the new class and two existing groups of the Latrobe Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. Initiated in 2017, the event is an enjoyable evening to meet the new residents and welcome them to the community.

LAHAS hosted a Calendar Party again this year at Giannillis ll. Thanks to all our table hostesses for very creative decorations and some men 'friends of LAHAS' for assisting with registration. Can you guess what month each table represented? There were basket raffles and 50/50 drawing. Thanks to everyone who supported this fund-raising initiative.

It's time for the annual Lung Cancer Awareness Walk held on Oct. 18th at The Square at Latrobe.

A message from Dr. Szwerc: Each year, over 250,000 people are diagnosed with lung cancer in the USA. The mission of the Lung Clinic is to make sure that every individual who is eligible has the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive lung cancer screening program."

2025!
Our organization collected 4,475 pairs of shoes this past summer.We appreciate all the volunteers who were our 'feet on the ground'.
The 4,618 pounds of shoes have been transferred to a small business entrepreneur in a developing nation, where the footwear will be given a second life.
Thank you to the Independence Health Latrobe Facilities Team for the awesome job helping us load the truck.
This project will help LAHAS to continue to fulfill our mission to "act as ambassadors to the community and engage in fundraising to support Independence Latrobe Hospital and the broader community.'

The Latrobe Area Hospital Aid Society held their fifth annual golf outing at Glengarry Golf Links on August 16th. The day will be remembered as a day of wonderful weather, and lots of fun and fellowship. Thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors and golfers. Your generosity made this event happen, and because of you , we will be able to continue to fund projects that will benefit Independence Latrobe Hospital and the surrounding community. Thank you!
