It happened in a moment that didn’t ask for attention.

The day was already moving along, nothing remarkable, nothing urgent. The kind of moment that usually slips by without being marked.

That’s when the raven appeared.

Not close. Not dramatic.
Perched at a distance, still enough to be mistaken for part of the landscape. It didn’t call out. It didn’t move toward you. It simply existed there, as if it had always been.

You noticed it.

That was all.

No feeling followed immediately. No rush of meaning. No sense of warning or invitation. Just the awareness of something unexpected sharing the same space for a brief stretch of time.

The raven did not react to being seen.

It did not demand interpretation.
It did not signal what should happen next.

It waited…without urgency, without impatience.

And for a moment, so did you.

Nothing needed to change.
Nothing needed to be understood.

The raven remained where it was.

This mark will continue.
