Our Story
This little home shop started by the shear passion of wanting to be creative. I had always had a dream of owning my own business and had been on a venture to find this for several years. I love nature, camping, kayaking and Mother Earth. I have many likes. I started my creativity in scrapbooking, when scrapbooking wasn’t cool. I would make special occasion cards and every year, I would make about 50+ Christmas card to hand out to family and friends. It went from there to something I could do year round. Using my scrapbooking Cricut, to cut lables and make signs. Using my cooking skills to create something that I didn’t have to eat. My husband is not too venturous in that area. So taking this passion to the next level took a lot of research. I wanted it to be right. I wanted it to be different. I wanted it to be something that could grow. I wanted it to give me the room to be creative and change as needed. I became a distributor for a very well known Essential Oil Company that sells and promotes only the best of 100% therapeutic grade essential oils. So I started by researching things with me. Then went to issues that I found important and close to home. Researching recipes and accredited people and other businesses in this field. Researched suppliers, discounts, bulk and small batch ordering. Researched wholesale and pricing product. Research, research and more research.... for almost 2 years before I even created and opened my page. I had to create, make and have testers for my products. So hard on myself for the first year, I would only try the products. I thought they wasn’t good enough to share. I quickly was told I was wrong. So, I started making bigger batches and packaging the products to give as gifts. Those that once got a handmade card, now get a handmade gift that they can use a lot longer.
Now, here we are. I was quick on the name and quick on my brand. I guess it came easy to me because I wanted something simple, clean and something that resembled me. Feather. LittleFeather, which is my nickname. Clean and simple - resembled the products and the outcome of the product. Just because it had simple ingredients, didn’t mean you wasn’t clean. I wanted to stick to plant base, natural products and cruelty-free ingredients. I wanted it to be safe for all members of the family and safe for any home. As for the name, Home~bod~y Products; my goal is to create a selection of products that is for the “home” and the “body”. I make things for Men, Women and kids. I soon will complete my laundry line with a pre-treat bar and liquid detergent. I may even add a Pet line, but it will be very simple. As anyone with a small, local, homebase business; it is mainly all about ‘word-of-mouth’ , likes and shares from my page to help me spread the word. I don’t have money for advertising. And I rely on my fans, friend and family to help me out the best they can on sharing the word..... SO SHARE.... its good to share!
I found my fire in a vendor show (my first) at a local powwow. Set up and was able to spread a little local word. I decided at that time, that this is one I really wanted to do. The powwow circuit. So I started more research and found local powwows in the area and checked them out over the year to see which ones I would be able to attend. In the mean time, I have to wait to be accepted; I did a few other local vendor shows to try and make myself more comfortable and experienced before hitting the circuit. So.... keep an eye out for me. I promise.... you will not miss me! If you do, you can find me here or at home for all your needs!
