The Laurel-Jones County Library is teaming up with Special Olympics Young Athletes (SOYA) on Fridays this September.

SOYA is an early childhood program designed for children aged 2-7, both with and without intellectual disabilities, to promote physical activity and development through play.

SOYA focuses on fundamental movement skills like running, kicking, and throwing, and encourages inclusive play to foster social and emotional learning. Children also learn to share, take turns, and follow directions. These skills help children in their family, community and with school activities.

Overall, SOYA aims to:
🌟Promote physical activity and healthy habits in young children.
🌟Enhance motor skills, social skills, and emotional development.
🌟Foster inclusion and acceptance among children with and without intellectual disabilities.

For your child to participate, please download the APP and register today.
