April is Stress Awareness Month.

Stress is one of the most overlooked factors affecting adult health today.

Many people think of stress as just a mental or emotional issue, but it goes far beyond that. It can impact your sleep, your energy levels, your focus, and even your physical health.

Chronic stress has been linked to conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, digestive issues, and anxiety.

Research shows that a significant number of adults experience ongoing stress, yet it often goes unaddressed until it begins to affect daily life.

The truth is your body keeps score, even when you try to push through.

This month is about becoming more aware and taking small steps toward better balance and better health.

Take a moment today to check in with yourself.

Save this for later.

He is risen ✝️

Today is a beautiful reminder that healing is real, and it is available to you.

No matter what you have been carrying physically, mentally, or emotionally, you do not have to carry it alone.

There is still peace for you. There is still restoration for you. There is still room for a new beginning.

Take a moment today to slow down, breathe, and receive that truth.

Healing is yours.
Peace is yours.
Hope is yours.

Save this as a reminder, and share it with someone who may need this today.

Had such a great time connecting with the teams at in partnership with Marquis Health this week!

Being in the room with social work, case management, and nursing leaders who truly shape the patient experience from admission to discharge was powerful. These are the individuals ensuring patients receive the care, coordination, and support they need every step of the way.

As we sit on the rising need for home care, our goal is simple. To provide high quality, professional home care and nursing services that are kind, reliable, and rooted in excellence. Care that extends beyond the facility and into the home, supporting patients where they are, both in person and virtually.

One thing that really stood out in our conversation is how much patients value consistency throughout their care journey. As they navigate the healthcare system, moving from hospital to LTAC, to skilled nursing, to outpatient, and ultimately back home, that continuity matters.

Regardless of the path, the goal is always getting home.

Our role is to provide that consistent presence along the way. A familiar face. A trusted team. Support that not only helps the patient, but also brings reassurance and relief to their families during a critical time.

We shared how our concierge approach allows us to support continuity of care, provide a familiar and trusted presence, and tailor services based on each patient’s evolving needs.

If you’re seeing this and you’re part of a hospital or skilled nursing facility team, I would love to connect. If you’re open to having us come in for an in service, get on your calendar, or simply stop by to share materials and introduce ourselves, please let me know.

We’re here to partner, support your team, and help create a smoother transition of care for your patients and their families.

Let’s connect.

Thank you all for joining me for this four part series. Hope you truly enjoyed it.

This final piece is a mashup of key takeaways as we close out Women’s History Month, honoring the life and health contributions of Henrietta Lacks. Her impact on modern medicine, bioethics, and research continues to shape how we understand care today.

What makes this story even more meaningful for me is that it happened right here in Maryland. As a Marylander, it hits a little closer to home, but her legacy is global. It reaches far beyond one place, one system, or one moment in time.

Her story reflects both the progress and the complexity of medicine. And that’s real life.

It’s Health Tip Tuesday! Small, intentional changes can make a big difference for your health.

Health doesn’t have to be overwhelming! Big results often come from small, consistent steps.

Adjust one habit at a time: Swap a sugary drink for water, add a serving of vegetables to lunch, or take a 10-minute walk each day.
Focus on what you can control: Meal prep, sleep routines, or hydration are simple changes that improve overall wellness.
Celebrate progress, not perfection: Even minor adjustments add up over time, supporting energy, mood, and long-term health.

Make it intentional: Setting small, achievable goals helps turn healthy choices into lasting habits.

This National Nutrition Month (or any month!), use Tuesday as a reminder: small, intentional steps today create big health benefits tomorrow.

It’s spring in the city 🌼😁☀️

Cherry blossoms, beautiful people, everybody from the suburbs coming into the city… but good energy all around.

Oh, and let’s not forget… no parking, tons of people, traffic everywhere 😂

Step outside. Get fresh air. Move your body.
Laugh, play, and enjoy the moment.

Don’t forget to be kind and patient with others 🌸

Audit your life. Examine the seeds. Look at the fruit. Be honest about what is growing. Your environment is evident of the seeds that you planted or allowed to be planted in your life.

Matthew 15:13 (KJV)
“Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.”

This is a moment of honesty. A moment to pause and truly assess what is taking root in your mind, your environment, and your life.

Because every seed will bear fruit.

Yesterday we talked about the environment of the mind and the seeds that are planted. This is simply a reminder to stay aware, stay aligned, and be willing to uproot anything that is not from God.

Truth creates awareness, and awareness gives you the power to change.

Day 1 - The Environment of the Mind

In this message, we explore what it means to guard the environment of your mind by understanding who God says you are and examining the seeds that are growing within you.

In Jeremiah 1:6–7, Jeremiah said, “I am a child.”

But God responded, “Say not, I am a child.”

This is a simple example of the difference between how we see ourselves and how God sees us, and how He corrects us back to truth.

What we think, we speak.
What we speak, we begin to believe.
And what we believe begins to shape our lives.

Part 4 of our Women’s History Month series is now live.

Henrietta Lacks’ story changed science. But it also changed how we think about ethics, consent, and trust in healthcare.

Over time, medicine has evolved. We now have stronger bioethics standards, informed consent practices, and systems designed to protect patients. But policies alone do not rebuild trust. People do.

Trust is built through transparency, communication, and making sure individuals feel seen, informed, and respected throughout their care.

Her legacy challenges us to think differently about what progress really means. Not just what we discover, but how we care for people along the way.

At DiscoverU Health, this is a responsibility we take seriously. We believe healthcare should be built on relationship, not just treatment. That humanity should be present in every interaction, every process, and every experience.

Because rebuilding trust does not happen all at once. It happens one experience at a time.

This is the final part of a four part series reflecting on the legacy of Henrietta Lacks and what it means for healthcare today.

What does humanity-centered healthcare look like to you?

Your brain is one of the most energy-demanding organs in your body. It relies heavily on steady fuel, especially glucose from balanced carbohydrates to function efficiently.

When meals are skipped or overly restrictive, it can lead to fatigue, brain fog, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. On the other hand, meals that include a mix of complex carbohydrates, lean protein, healthy fats, and fiber help provide sustained energy and mental clarity throughout the day.

This National Nutrition Month, think of food not just as calories but as fuel for performance, productivity, and overall well-being.

Small, consistent choices can make a meaningful difference in how you feel every day.
