I and several of the other members of our group happen to be able to not only know Robert A Rodriguez but consider him a good friend. He offers encouragement to everyone that he comes into contact with both online and in person. He’s even recently done a movie. Robert I’m so proud of you and all you have accomplished and I’m honored to be a friend of yours.
New York native Rodriguez grew up as one of seven children, and his siblings used to tease him a lot, as siblings do. For Robert, that meant hiding his prosthetic leg. Robert was born with Fibular Hemimelia, a congenital birth defect, in which he was born missing two toes and muscles and ligaments in his right leg. At 10 months old Robert had his right leg amputated. The 28-year-old now celebrates his differences for everyone to see. He’s a player on the USA Amputee Soccer Team, a member of the Limb Kind Prosthetic Mission Team, and Founder of Stand Up Amputee Basketball Team named "Limb Possible”, an organization working to find places for amputee basketball players to play competitive stand-up basketball. Robert recently traveled to Haiti with the Limb Kind Prosthetic Mission Team as an amputee mentor.“ Seeing how Limb Kind made the freedom of mobility a reality for these children was amazing.” Robert is planning his second international Limb Kind Project to the Philippines in September. He is excited to continue to make a difference in the lives of children with limb loss. Due to poverty, natural disaster, and lack of proper healthcare, millions of children with limb loss around the world live their life without the opportunity of ever having a prosthesis. The Limb Kind Foundation provides prostheses free of charge to these children, as well as returning annually for continual prosthetic care while they are still a child. The Limb Kind Prosthetic Mission Team will be traveling to Davao City, in the Philippines to provide prostheses to children with limb loss living in this impoverished area. Support the Limb Kind Foundation so these children will always have the ability to run and play like all other children.
