Last week, we enjoyed our first visit from our 2025-2026 Laurens-Marathon 4th graders! This is a longstanding partnership that our residents look forward to each school year.

We played an icebreaker dice game to get to know each other. Then, the 4th graders read the residents a book of the 4th graders’ choosing. Finally, we made “bootiful ghosts” for the spooky Halloween season.

Thanks for visiting, Chargers, we look forward to our next visit in December.

For our morning activity, we had fun “spinning the alphabet”. The wheel is full of letters from the alphabet. The letter you land on determines the first letter of the word you must come up with. For an added challenge, we asked residents to only use words that had to do with the fall season. For example, the person who landed on “L” said “leaves”.

WE ARE ACCEPTING BULK VEGGIE DONATIONS:
Do you have a bulk supply of fresh veggies that have never been touched by pesticides just waiting to be enjoyed? Our resident's love fresh veggies, and we're excited to accept bulk donations of fresh veggies never touched by pesticides.

Please drop off veggie donations to our front office between 9-4 PM or call ahead to set up a drop-off time at 712-845-4915.

ALL donations are greatly appreciated as we continuously strive to provide delicious, nutritious food at Laurens Care Center.

We received a deliciously sweet surprise from a resident’s family who utilized our small town Chicken Bakin Ranch Bakery in Laurens to provide all of our staff with cupcakes. These cupcakes taste just as amazing as they look. Job well done to our local bakery!!

We received permission to share with you the kind words this family wrote to our staff in a card. As LCC staff, we are honored that you trust us with your dearest loved ones. Thank you to this family for their generous cupcake gifts and kind words, and thank you for trusting us with your mom’s care.
